The larger a company is (in terms of employees) doesnt necessarily reflect how good it is, most of the time companies that are too big become sluggish and inefficient. One hand doesnt know what the other is doing, coordination becomes difficult, etc. Infact, smaller companies usually fair better for these reasons, they are more flexible to market conditions.
Their employees can also work on their own personal projects. Google gives them time for that and they are still payed my god what a company You should browse http://video.google.com and search for 'Googleplex' if you wanna see some cool vids from the inside Didier
Most people would think they got paid less because of all of the benefits and extras, but I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you get paid industry averages.
I bet a lot of people on this board make way more then people who work for google or microsoft and do it sitting around at home in their underwear Probably doesn't look as good on a resume though
I wouldent say "a lot" but I believe a fair few people do, I would much rather prefer to work from home and go out whenever I like than go to an office - however attractive it is. It all comes down to personal preference really, I cant hack a day in an office. Oh, and those sort of people dont need a resume
