I use McAfee Total Protection on my computer and it's working very well for me. I also run SuperAntispyware occasionally to make sure that all malicious software are caught. These two programs are all I need to protect my computer and the reason why I like them is that they do not have big footprints, meaning they do not hog the resources on my computer the way other security software do.

The best defense is to buy a Mac computer.

Apple admits that viruses could exist but they are very rare and not likely to happen to average joe. And if you did get one, there's always Time Machine to completely restore your computer.

You may want to check out: http://www.av-comparatives.org They run some very good comparison tests. I used to be a fan of AVG but have found it missing some newer malware. I tried Avast and it seemed to work well but will likely go for G-Data or TrustPort.

I think KIS 2010 is the best way to secure your PC from various range of threats. However in our country Kaspersky is well-known for its demand for RAM. That's why many people choose another russian solution - Dr.Web. It's quite popular in Russia.

I agree i have 2 mac's now but if your still running windows i would recommend MSE Microsoft Security Essentials.
Its free and is one if not the TOP free spyware/malware/anti virus program currently.

Unlike AVG and avast, MSE wont mess with your email client, network settings or browser.
You wont even know its running as it uses very little memory.

Why would someone spend so much money to buy MAC computer just for the sake to avoid virus and malware threats. And the worst thing MAC computer can't even install any alternative software other than manufactured by Apple

I use KasperSky on one of my computers while I use McAfee on the other.

Therefore, I look for the best Anti-virus software which I can find to help protect my computer, ;)

I know something about Apple MAC and my brother own one. And even if it thousands, the software are very pricey. Just for example Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 (1 user/1 year) only cost $26 in my country but Kaspersky MAC antivirus version cost around $70 for 1 user.
