Hello All, What is the latest off site seo techniques that still works? - submitting to link directories - article marketing - squidoo and hudpages - social bookmarking Am i missing out something?
The activities you mentioned are still working.Directory submision has given less importance now days.
I agree with seo2514, directories do not have the "link juice" that they used to have. I think that "good ole" manual backlinking cant be beat.
Posting on forums and commenting on blogs related to your niche are also great way to get some backlinks and improve your rankings.
I can't find any blogs that are 'dofollow' these days. Commenting doesn't seem like an effective SEO technique anymore.
these all work but are getting weaker with every algorithm update. Your best bet is to create good content and promote it within your niche to build links. It takes longer, can even be more expensive ,but can't go wrong.
D3rek, Greetings. I'd have to say that those 4 are important, but not in the early phases. Good SEO techniques center around good content, at least as far as Google is concerned. Google may have changed their weighing of values, but these are still important to them: - META tags (title, description less so) - H1 element - text for images (alt and title) - file name matching the content - some sort of relationship between them all, and with pages outside of your site A good example would be to do a Google search for: cocktail recipes with pictures At the time of writing this post, our page for Popular Cocktail & Drink Recipes with Pictures comes up as the top result. Nothing can beat good content. If you enjoy what you are developing, and want to produce a worth-while product, then SEO will automatically be built into your page. Good content is what search engines love, and what will keep your visitors returning. Cheers!
Links placed on a site by someone else other than you seem to have greater value. Links placed onto a site by submission by someone other than the webmaster seem to be getting devalued.
That brings up a good point. A good search engine is nothing more than a study in human behavior. As our use of the Internet evolves, the search engines hope to keep up with us. Whether it's white hat/black hat SEO, or simply average search patterns.
They are planning to make searching engine a personalized and customized experience. For example, if you query for 'white hat', a computer of an seo would result to different results than the laptop of a fashion designer.
Hi, I think, except this - submitting to link directories, all above techniques would still work these days. Also, blogging would be the best channel for back linking purpose. all the best,
I hadn't heard the commenting on site relevant to your own blog wasn't a good strategy. An SEO consultant I did some work for last year included commenting as a top way to gain SEO juice. May this has something to do with the 'no follow' vs. 'do follow' movement?
so most of you agreed that link directories doesnt work anymore? why are there still seo companies offering directories submission service, in your opinon, which method works the best, i am doing solely article marketing as seo for one of my health blogs, am i making the right choice? currently below is the seo plan for me blog. - 1 article blasted to a list of articles directories everyday.
