Hi, How do you prefer to get traffic to a site at first? PPC is faster, but it costs money. SEO takes time, but is less costly. Thanks
SEO , SEO , SEO ...PPC gives traffic but never gives targeted traffic. On the other hand SEO gives traffic and most of them is targeted.
Agreed, SEO is the way to go. I look at the PPC ads that pop up on my site, and feel sorry for the folks that spend money on them.
SEO is of course the best way to get traffic. But of course it takes time to build. If I would build a site today, I would use PPC to get instant traffic while at the same time build my link. Then, when my site is on first page, I will stop by PPC campaign.
Hi, I think sometimes PPC might be the only choice before your SEO efforts come into effect. Of course, social media would be another nice channel for traffic purpose, too. have a nice day,
It depends on your requirements, budget and how you handle them. If PPC is not that worth then no one would be going to spent money on it. The only difference will be that SEO will somehow give stable traffic. It will be there for a long time if you have done good SEO, but PPC traffic will stop as soon as you stop paying. So it all depends on needs ...
If I have a budget, I would go for PPC... Not only for traffic, but for branding as well. But in normal case (without budget), I always consider SEO.
SEO is always better because its free targeted traffic. In the long run SEO is always better because once you stop your ppc campaign you don't get anymore traffic, but you will always rank for your keyword.
ppc AND seo. Both are useful. What is important is that you do things right. There are many tips you should learn at first and try to avoid the wrong things in ppc and seo. In one word, do things effectively.
SEO. Google users are becoming Adwords blind, besides I have lost my butt too many times trying PPC, but that's my own bias. B
Offcourse PPC can give you targeted traffic but in these days it's way to expensive for most webmasters or affiliate marketers to do PPC. (at least for me it is)
At first? PPC is your only real answer since SEO does take time as you point out. Personally, it's nice to have some idea of the type of conversion rate you can expect before taking the time to build the site in SERPS.
Done properly, SEO isn't really less costly. If you only have $100 you can do ppc - buy some traffic, (hopefully) make some money and then put the profit back into more ppc, etc. You couldn't even begin seo with $100 - you couldn't even buy a Yahoo dir listing or anything...
ppc is the only way to get tons of traffic, if you have something that makes real money, then it's worth it. if you are just experimenting with something, you could lose your butt on ppc though.
That will always depend on your level of expertise, budget, and expectations towards your online property. As a general rule, though, I'd say, start with SEO till you have a decent idea of how the niche is responding to the site, and only afterwards spend on PPC, gradually till you reach your income objectives. It's already commonsense that PPC is not what it used to be in its beginning, and nowadays it's going to take a fair chunk of $$$ burnt before any earnings are realized.
according to me Seo is better option to get traffic ... its late to get results but its for long time traffic if you continue better work ..
