I'm starting a porn site. Any tips?

Hey guys. I've decided to take a leap and venture into a porn website to build my portfolio. Here's my strategy:

- I'm going into an "ugly girl" niche. I've discovered five lucrative, zero competition short-tail terms in this niche, which I'm going to exploit.
- Offer free tube videos, stories and pictures(containing ugly girls in them).
- Get PPC and affiliate ads on the site(containing pretty girls in them).
- Offer paid subscription. Subscription includes: access to adult dating section, chatroulette video conference system, chat and forum

Any porn veterans willing to poke holes to solidify my strategy?

 

So you would exploit the "ugly girl" niche to get your visitors, and then include lots of PPC advertising for those who want to see pretty girls. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I guess the only question is: What is a the demand? How many searches do these keywords get each month, and is it worth your while?

Just because the competition is low, doesn't mean it's a worthwhile venture unless there is a significant demand for these keywords.

I would start marketing in every way that you can. Take advantage of the free programs that are around. There are lots of sites that can help you bring in traffic. Don't forget about Google either! Organic traffic can do wonders for a porn site so I'd stick with building high PR links and ranking for keywords. Just use the keywords as your anchor text and build as many as you can. Guest posting on plugs is one way. I'm not sure how the "ugly girl" niche is focused, but youtube videos and PPC is just a start.

 

@jasonvan as I said, I checked with Google Insights, there are FIVE competitionless short tail keywords that I could target in this niche. Not "virtually" zero competition, ABSOLUTELY zero competition. I juxtaposed them with some previously proven keywords to check how much traffic were talking about. I'm thinking I can make some headway in that niche for about a year or two before the rest catch on to it.

The basics behind building any website seem fairly simple. Link build, target keywords, articles etc etc it's just putting it into practice that has been the hard part for me.

Will this be your first site?

 

Hate to tell you this mate, but there is NO such thing as zero competition in porn. Either A) the niche is dead in terms of ROI B) you're not searching correctly or C) something off

Porn is more competitive then divorce/bankruptcy lawyers, so that should tell you something.

 

Do a research on your target keywords with something like google keyword tool and see what to emphasize. "Ugly" is a broad term... wonder what sub categories you'll have on your site

@austravel, no it's my second site. I believe I've taken my first site as far as it can go. Looking for a new challenge, and some money.

 

that sounds like a terrible niche..haha. The idea of it is for beautiful girls but I guess there is a niche for everything. You will most likely be building links completely artificial since not many reputable sites will link to a p*rn site, or allow you to place a link. This is going to mean adult forums, adult blog commenting, link exchanges, and sponsored links / posts.

You know. There happens to be a huge amount of research that is needed with the long tail keywords. You need to know how much traffic they get each month. Are there buyers for the "ugly girl" niche. I am sure there is because its the porn industry and there are buyers for it all. Then you need to drive your site to the top of Google. Remember you want the #1 spot so you can get the majority of the search traffic.

 

Off Shore Hosting is all I got to say...avoid copyright infringement etc...be hard to be found

 

@Ryan, yeah, that's gonna be one of my main concerns. Porn is illegal where I come from.

 

In mind one thing is going for this just get it very simple because comption is alot in this field .this is because many owner write many thing about there website we dont any more or any intersting thing what they have written in it.

Since you say that porn is illegal where you are then you really need of shore hosting. Not sure where you are from, but I can with almost all certainty say that you are on the right track to profits. Porn is big business. Like they say Sex Sells.
