If you've ever had to "fix" a site you screwed up a long time ago or a clients site that was screwed up, using sitemaps can be an exceptionally valuable tool. It can help you pickup links to pages that got deleted somewhere on the way, or correct "incorrect" inbound links such as h**p://www.example.com%20 . Chances are if Google sees something "wrong" so do the other engines. As far as giving you extra "juice" or faster crawling I haven't seen anything that I can say conclusively proves that. From the "darker" side of town if you're redirecting any 301's looking at the inbound anchor text can tell you if things are working as you expected ...
Actually wordpress is just ment for Blog , default is more then suff, some guys try to use it as portal then they need to look for few plugins.I used rss to wordpress that updates automatic for my seo blogs but that is not must.
Wordpress works really well as a CMS. Allowing you to have a "regular" website integrated seamlessly with a blog all with one control panel
You can also customise the design of your WP blog to look like a site. I add my articles to the "Page" menu and make blog posts as current news or tips of the day.
the only plugin you need is the "static home page" plugin. You create pages the way you normally do with wordpress. You just structure the architecture differently.
k, will take note of that. tks for the heads-up. Minstrel: you seem to have the handle on this, i've also heard that the next PR update is slated for mid Oct? is this true?
1. Google updates continuously: 2. No one outside of Google knows when the next update will be, although since Big Daddy there have been a series of patches and fixes which are still ongoing 3. When you read about "updates" on forums like this one, people usually are talking about public toolbar PR updates (or sometimes backlinks updates). Again, no one outside Google knows when the next one will be. People or sites that claim to "predict" the next public update are blowing hot air. It will happen when Google feels like doing it - no earlier and no later.
Nice plug ins here I got also a custom plugin to subscribe to a affiliate newsletter when you register. And of cours a rss feed aggregators.
Hi minstrel, tks for your advice. the PR predictors were saying i'd hit PR5. the reality was that i only got an upgrade to PR3. i've definitely moved to the PR predictor=horoscope camp!
