Hi, I have been in the blogging field for the past few months. I have a doubt regarding the dropped domains. Can we trust on a dropped domain for developing a new blog?(like age less than a year) If yes, how can we prevent it from dropping again? If not, please state the reason. Thank You.
Yes dont trust the dropped domains, unless it is a high pagerank domain and you are 100% sure, that you can get good backlinks and SEO done so that it regains the SERPs and maintain the pagerank.
of cause why not. I am not sure what you mean by "prevent it from dropping again". you pay the yearly domain renewal fees - it will never drop.
This is rather confusing. Are you referring to signing up on a blogging site (x.blogwithme.com) and the owners allowing the domain to expire/drop? Or your own site? If the latter, as long as you pay the yearly fees the domain will not drop.
Using dropped domains to gain PR and links stopped working well years ago. As soon as the WHOIS, IP and DNS changes, you'll loose most of link juice. From my experience, the big 3 are on to this old scheme. If you're purchasing the domain because you like it, then it could work as long as the domain hasn't been flagged or blacklisted for spamming / blackhat SEO.
If you're goinf to buy a dropped domain, you need to check the domain to make sure its not banned from google. If its been used for blackhat reasons and they got caught, then you may never get the domain back in the serps without months and months of work. Then it still may not be able to get indexed. Always check the domain by typing it in google and see if it brings a result back with just the domain name. If it doesn't then be very cautious, the domain may be banned.
There shouldn't be any problems so long as you don't let it expire. A good SEO practice would be to register the domain for a longer period like 5 years instead of just one. Another important SEO factor is content. If you keep your blog updated with original content regularly, there shouldn't be any problems.
If it's not banned and has some links already go for it. It can speed up your listing process on the search engines.
There are many things you should check before using a dropped domain name. The best thing is to use fresh domain name.i heard the age factor is not important in new search algorithm.if you still want to go then test for a 3 months,if it gain page rank and scrawling good then stick to it but with your own interest of investing time and money.
Check the back links of the domain and see any link from the domain is violating any rule of anything.
