YouTube Video marketing

I've spoken with two very expensive SEO firms who mentioned a major part of their service is video work. I took a look at some of their samples and thought I might be able to do that myself. I made this video with Windows Movie Maker and was wondering if a few people could take a look and offer suggestions.

    1) Will the video provide backlinks to my site?
    2) Does the video properly explain what we do?
    3) Does the video capture your attention so you'll watch the entire thing?

First of all, the video looks pretty professional.
    1) Not necessarily. Most video sites like YouTube and Vimeo won't give you backlinks. If you have the video on your domain then people may link to it.
    2) Yes, I got the idea of what it is you do from the video.
    3) No. To be brutally honest I could not watch the entire video. It was like an 2:50 intro. Why not have other things on it besides your services, logo, and URL? Put up testimonials, have a person talk about how the agency made their life better, or put up some real stats about how many people you have helped.. maybe how much money you have generated for people as a result of your service.

As I said, it is much better than some of the other videos I have seen. But you could soup it up even more!

a good link from SEW (published just last month) on Video SEO

Sorry, I just have to jump in and correct a few things

You can get links from Youtube, but they are nofollow. Remember Video is best for traffic, not SEO.

Yes, but as Brad said, why would anyone want to watch it? Why not do a video where you talk about how people can interview better, or how companies can get better candidates?
Nope, but that is because it is exactly what it is.

Below is a link to something we threw together. It has given this website a lot of traffic for "hawkes bay wine tours". It also shows how you can get a link and how you can make the most of the time on YouTube.

    1) Will the video provide backlinks to my site?

    i dont think so.
    2) Does the video properly explain what we do?
    yeah, it does

    3) Does the video capture your attention so you'll watch the entire thing?
the music is awful and no, i would not watch the whole video.

if you wanna get links just go social (or viral)

make the video SHORT, nobody will ever watch a 2:30 mins of Advertising.

if you need more help just ask.
