More acts of desperation by Microsoft. Now they're giving away free cell phones with Windows on it cause 1) nobody's buying their cell phones and 2) most Microsoft employees use iPhones or Android phones. Lol.

I laughed at this one, although I did make Bing my default search provider after reading this :-P. Haha. Thanks.

    Nobody is saying there is.
    That point one.
See point one. The bottom line is Microsoft has to pay people to use Bing and that is the only purpose in this.
Leaving to go out of town right now but the article says Microsoft employees gave that money, not the company, but I'm in a hurry. As far as Google goes, they are more into "save the planet"/"tree hugging" efforts and invest heavily into those industries which don't count toward charitable giving. For example, the news said they are spending billions on a wind farm in Iowa in the hopes of gaining knowledge in that effort to promote that technology as a replacement for coal/gas/oil as an energy source. They will share that knowledge with the power industry.

    Gotta run.

I think its a good marketing move. I wonder how long you have to keep them as your default, and what charity it goes to...
In any event, they've got a tough fight it they want to unseat google... but this isn't a bad idea.
