Hi Everyone, Its been more than 2 years that i left Link building for pursuing MBA.Now i am thinking of creating my own websites and promoting them.I would like valuable suggestions from the members as what kind of websites should i build and my aim is to earn through ad sense.What kind of SEO techniques should i use as the techniques which were there 2 years back are outdated.Looking forward for valuable suggestions. there are alot of new techniques now. first of all, dont go for directory submissions, these carry not so much weight. 2nd start linkbuilding slowly, google has improved their anti spam alghorithms. 3rd, check out my signature link, its one of the new linkbuilding methods 4th, web 2.0 and socialmedia sites are the latest thing, i suggest you read up on those.
There are many tools to help you find a good niche. Research the CPC prices for keywords and the level of the competiton. The SEO techniques used a few years ago have not changed a whole lot.
It depends on the topics/categories you are interested on. Dream big man. Of course ad-sense can bring you some pennies think about big bucks! If you can write posts/articles on entertainment/films and if you are from India, I would suggest you can start something on that topic because India is now growing big in financing on Films online advertising. Then you need to concentrate on increasing the popularity of your blog/website. After you get hundreds and thousands of visits you can contact the advertisers to place their ads on your website. If you can choose this professionally then you can spend lot of time on internet and get huge information on how to explode your business online popularity. All the best!

Learn to multi-quote, makes life much easier. @OP - I don't think that the SEO methods that we had 2 years ago are outdated but have just slightly changed, methods such as link building, social bookmarking and on-page optimisation. They will probably stay longer up until who knows when. As for your question, I would suggest you to create websites that matches your interest and do a research on the level of competitiveness and lastly, focus on targeting large audiences that you think will still be interested in your niche even after a couple of years.
