Keep on creating (decent) content, submit links to this content to all the top social bookmarking sites. And submit them to article directories (content will need to be a certain length for most of these) and link back to your to create (almost) instant traffic and help towards the long term traffic sources (search engines)

Once you start building links and promoting your website, you will start to get traffic, just build links and submit to directories and you will get more traffic.

I consider myself a pretty big movie buff - I've rated 3,236 movies on Netflix and have seen a lot more. I've done a lot of searches for movies and the results are almost always the same: IMDB, Wikipedia, Amazon, etc. Those are the top 50 websites in the world - a new website that is one month old will simply not be able to compete with those juggernauts. I'm not trying to discourage him, just being realistic.

You can do the steps listed in these posts to improve search engine listing but don't get your hopes up for ranking on page one.

I think your competition is so far off the charts you'll never get anyone. But, I think you have a fun concept that could be melded into another venture.

Oh, and you have no content on the site. No content = no Google ranking. You could try to push via article or something.

    Best of Luck!

There are lots of ways to get traffic. Try article marketing, directory submission, have better seo, social network marketing.. if you're desperate, PPC...

First I disagree with that statement that you will probably never get anyone because your competition is so far off the chart. You need to do some marketing of for the website. While you are in a very popular niche, try to make something that the other guys don't have. Set you self apart from the rest of the pack.

If you are planning on using just articles for your site then you need some type of content. Are you "alt" tags set up. Remember that Google can not read images or videos. So they are basically looking at a blank page.

So, to improve you need the following

    1. A well thought out SEO campaign
    2. Maybe a blog that will be used to point visitors toward your site. This could be movie reviews on the movies that you have.
    3. Patience. Remember good things come to those who wait.

I asked it before and I will ask it again: WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE SITE?

What purpose does it serve? I went there and couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a "humor" site, a "review" site, or what?

All I see is a bunch of movie poster images mish-mashed onto the one page that link to poorly formatted sub-pages with a sentence in a GIANT FONT with HTML that looks like it's something out of a teenager's bedroom in the early 90s.

Sorry to be harsh, but unlike all the other canned responses in here from people trying to pad their post count - really, "market your website!" "get back links!" "write a blog!", is any of that helpful AT ALL? - I would actually like to try and give you a hand in doing whatever it is you are trying to do...

Wow, your not being harsh your being honest. I am not sure what the OP has in mind for the site, but I do think that he knows zilch about getting traffic. The site needs work. Your saying that you want to help him do whatever it is that he is trying to do, I say that he is trying to set-up a page that hopefully will one day bring in an income. Any advice on that? That is why he content. That is what everyone here is saying.

Oh yeah, I have enough posts. I am also trying to help get him traffic. Since that is what he asked for.

I assume pretty much everyone is here because they want to "bring in income" from the Internet. That isn't a purpose for the site, it's just a vague desire that most of us have. If he can indicate what he is trying to DO with the site then we can all help point him in the right direction with some tips on how to do it.

Well right now the site is not optimized for anything. I would start helping him get it optimized so he can get some organic search engine traffic.

For images, I'd suggest using myprops.org since they have good PR. I don't really understand the site, so even if you get visitors, they might not come back.

Thought I'd come back with an update. I added a blog, cleaned the site up, did SEO up the ying yang and I am seeing a lot of traffic now. It has only been a couple days since I did all of these things but I went from making $0.14 on adsense one day to $20.34 the next day. The people who visit my site must want to sign up for netflix (that ad runs a lot). I am not on the front page of google, nor am I on the 100th page, but I am getting enough viewers to make a little money. A lot of you idiots have websites that mean nothing to you and it is all about tricking people to look at them with high page rank. I actually care about this website and if I don't make another dime, I don't care. I just want people on my website and it making them happy too.

Everyone out there, just follow your passion and your website will work out for you!

The easiest way if you can't do it your self is hire staff from some seo firm.

I still stick by my niche competition statement on this one, there are just some niches that I feel you have to rank well in the offline world first. I just don't think with any amount of SEO (of which there is none at the moment) is going to get this site to rank for anything except the longest of the long tail keywords.

Now, of course, if he takes this concept (changing the comments on the movies) and it catches on, and word spreads, who knows - anything is possible. But my personal opinion is that the concept doesn't cut it.
