What is the difference between google cache and google index . When we see google cache snapshot of a page , it shows date & time. what does it basically mean. Does it means the last time spider crawl that page.

Google does always crawl the page and "acknowledge" all links flow and content but sometimes they do not cache every pages they crawled. It does mean sometime when you have backlinks on the page that is not cached, it does not mean your link was not acknowledge by Google as "always", sometime it does.

Cache is the snapshot of how Google viewed your site along with date it was cached while being indexed means your site is already included in Google's database.
