Hello everybody! In the last couple of years I have been doing a lot of research on how to make money online. Therefore, I have pretty much all the knowledge I would need to start my own business online, but due to the lack of experience and probably also lack of motivation, I did not have any success so far. I either gave up too soon after starting a new website/blog, or got stuck and couldn't get it straight. This is how I came with this idea: If one of the many experienced and success people here is willing to guide me with step-by-step instructions on putting up my first website and start to monetize it, I will share half of that website earnings as long as it stays online. So, if I wasn't clear enough, I only need daily instructions from you, and I will do all the hard working (backlinking, writing content, etc.). I'm thinking that a temporary partnership with one of you guys, leading to my first money producing website, will be enough launch me on the right way and enable me to work on my own afterwards. Thanks.
Well, you can always learn about running online business and there're plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum thus you can get your questions answered for free. Unfortunately, no one can help you with motivation as if you're not motived to earn money there's nothing we can do. The main reason many internet business fail is because owners give up to quick.

Funny you say that. While I hate my business, not really hate, but find it more annoying than anything else, it's the money which motivates me to keep going. I feel if a person if unmotivated, we've yet to see their true colors. Either they haven't earned the money, which will in turn drive motivation, or they aren't motivated by money at all.
Okay, first you state that you have motivational problems. And then you say that we get share "as long as website stays online" I sort of feel discouraged. To me, it looks like ... you should completely drop the "research how to make money" part. Just forget that. After that's forgotten, now you can think of what you wanna do. What are you good at? What would you do for your whole life - even for free? Some like waterskiing, some photography, some art, some music, games... you name it. What's your passion? After you've figured that out. Set up a site around your passions. It can be a blog about your passion, or a community site or anything for that matter. But first you need to find something that you would do regardless of earning a cent. After that... you will have much greater chances seeing the money.
Thanks for your precious advice. I've also subscribed Samantha's newsletter. Anyway, as I stated in my first post, I have all the theoretical knowledge I would need. Still, I wanted was step-by-step instructions for my first website from someone who has done this before successfully, and with more websites. The only ones that offered to help me this way were inexperienced, and no offence, but you cannot offer me more than I already have.
I believe that the problem that some of the more experienced members here are having is your lack of motivation. They want to know what will keep you working hard to get to that first dollar. Why would anyone give their knowledge away for free? You say that you are willing to split the income from the site 50/50, but your unmotivated so how much would that be. How about letting us know how you plan to keep yourself motivated because when you first start out the income is not going to be there. Are you going to give up and stop? This will mean that the one that has accepted your proposal gets nothing for teaching you.
this is one of the largest misconceptions imo. just because you love doing something does not mean that you could do it for the rest of your life as a business with the hopes of earning a nice income. read the e-myth by michael gerber, he talks about this specifically. I too used to think, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life," but things dont always workout that way. Once you throw money into the equation and things like profit and loss, covering overhead, employee's salaries, etc.. that thing you once loved could turn into something you loath. to the original poster, your thread really does not inspire confidence in anyone who might be interested in partnering up with you. you said outright that your lack of motivation has kept you from succeeding in the past. so why would someone want to partner up with someone whom isnt motivated? Having a "guru" tell you what to do is not the key to your success. Perhaps at first it will help, but even with his or her assistance, things will take time and when that happens you'll most likely get bored again and move on. You have to want it bad. you have to be willing to work your ass off for it. no one is going to give you a damn thing in this world, you have to take it. i eat, sleep and breath my business 24/7 and i still am having issues. If it were easy to make it in business, whether it be an online venture, or something else, everyone would be rich. You have to pay your dues first..
What will I do to keep me motivated? Starting from today, with help or without help, I'll keep track of all the work I'm doing for my new website(s) in Excel. Thereby, I'll be able to see what I've done in the previous days, and won't stop until they generate income. Actually, not even then. Anyone thinks that's a good idea?
If you want to keep yourself motivated then you need to have a goal. I am not sure what your goal is here? I know that I can spend hours on the forum posting responses to different threads all the while I am looking for the topic of my next article. You may have just given me one with your motivation problems. I think that I will brainstorm methods on keeping motivated. One pointer there is not greater motivator than sex and money.
I think the best way to stay motivated is not to choose such a competitive niche which you obviously have. Also does it not occur to you that using "how to make money online" in one anchor text link is going to get you to the top of the rankings. You are joking right. First off are you making any money online? To me it seems its not the case. Do what game producer said and find something you are passionate about and the money will follow.... if you are motivated enough.
Honestly just start writing the content for your website. If you find yourself absolutely hating to write article after article then a website/blog endeavor is not for you. How to create a website can be done in less than 5 minutes..Simply upload WordPress to your server, create a database and run the install and your done. If you have any trouble look at the install instructions WordPress supplies. Then submit the articles you wrote..now get on a posting schedule plan which should include 1 article 3 times a week is what I do Monday,Wens and Fri. Then target keywords in your niche using Google Keyword Tool. This will help you brainstorm on new subject material. If you stick with it purchase a theme to make your blog look like a full featured website.
Do you know what the best way is to learn internet marketing from scratch? It might not seem obvious at first but it really works. Freelancing. Look at it this way. If you perform tasks for established internet marketers it's like an apprenticeship. You get paid and you get hands on experience with entry level aspects of their business. As you master one type of skill through freelancing you can scale up and offer higher and higher types of service. You get to see firsthand how many different types of online business work and you put some money in the bank in the process. Plus, you get to know a great many people you can partner with down the track when you're established as a marketer yourself. And of course you'll have deadlines and income to keep you motivated. It's all win win.
Freelancing is indeed a great way to learn IM. This is how I started too: I was creating Web 2.0 properties with links to my client's site before I even knew what backlinks are. I actually didn't know anything about SEO at that time. Anyway, as TeDWooD said, it's best to start with less competitive keywords, and this is what I'm going to do. When I'll see a couple of small sites indexed high in Google SERPs I'll move on to more competitive niches.
