You have to try different strategies and ideas to bring in more customer. Here's a list of what you can do 1. Write article - submit it to bookmarking site and link it to your blog 2. Comment on popular restaurant site or food bloggers 3. Create a section where everyone can get involved 4. Make a video weekly 5. Build relationship with your local chocolate & sweet 6. Add more plug-in and use Yahoo Answer 7. Take advantage of Twitter and Facebook like create a fan page Hope this help! Good luck
Forums, in general, are extremely tough to get users. Especially when you don't already have an established community. A lot of times forum owners will pay a group of people to post about 50 - 100 posts each. (You will never get people posting unless they think others are). Use Google Adwords Keyword Tool to see if people are interested in the subject and which keywords and ,i guess, questions they have and are interested in. good luck

I think he asked the best way to market / advertise which means bring in visitors in my mind. If this is the case then article submission and adwords are probably your best bet. Of course SEO is vital if you want to bring in organic visitors.
in my case, i consider my self lucky since some of my forum member are 'expert' in their field. Some how their name could bring a lot of visitor and bring many member to join my forum. Well, since my forum is quite specific in only one theme and targetting only in my country i could say my forum quite active for 5 month old`s forum. probably you could try this too, inviting someone who's expert in their filed of work or hiring them if you could but if asking about how to monetize it, honestly i still dont have any idea
i very much like your website , it has a lot of sense its soothing i think you should try marketing it by doing some online advertisements , flyers , and you could try to change your design every now and then
It does not make ANY sense to use ppc until you have an active forum. It's like inviting people to a party and when they show up there's only 2 people. Nobody is going to bother posting if others aren't.
