It's as close to a major update as we will ever see again. Out of a sample size of 110 domains registered since the June 29th freakish update (it wasn't a minor update -- it was a mangled major update that got canceled mid-run), only 18 failed to get PR. Of those 18, nine were registered within the last two days. I'm not 100% certain when I offer this up, but I think Google is drifting toward updating more often. I suspect this is an accidental benefit from the Caffeine project, but it's a welcome change. By my math, we're seeing at least a partial update every three to six weeks now. The downside is that Google appears to be getting a lot better at destroying spammier domains' PR. I also have a growing suspicion -- totally unvalidated -- Google is employing a challenge-response system in deliberately issuing PR0s to flush out people who freak out quickly and try to compensate. I had a lot (maybe 10% of total inventory) of domains that were PR0 in the last update or two that made their way up to PR4 in this update with no new link building. I also see about 10% of my new buys since June 29 are going from no PR to PR0 -- these are all domains that my system calculates should have a PR of at least 3 and have seen no link erosion since being registered. I think Google is monitoring how much you freak out and change your link building strategy when you get a PR0 as a build for an algorithm that monitors link building behavior for spamminess. I seem to have one of the largest data sets here. I'd like to here what other folks who are buying on this kind of volume are running into.
I have seen only backlinks update from my side but PR is still the same. I am wondering if PR update would come very close somehow.
I dont think so either , unless you had a dropped name that regained its PR then I dont understand your situation.. NO changes across all my sites
No Update here! to any of site, I dont know why some of DP users fake HYPE because majority of users in this thread haven't had update experience
I have not experienced any updates until now. But it seems that some sites are really seeing a update now.
