Maybe replacing the wood with something else would be better? I haven't got any particular dog, but it should be the same cartoon style as the logo, even better if it looks "pure breed", we couldn't care less about breed (we have 4 mixed breeds at home and love them) but some of the clients do... About the menu, I'm not sure wich would look best. Overall, it's a nice and cute design but it could look a bit more professional (I know I already said that...). I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon for the revision.

enn: It's better.
* As you said, the menu could look better, it's also a little too wide.
* Adding the background may be a good idea.
* The dog looks a little distorted, like it was resized in an unevenly way.

* Nice design, I like it. Looks professional yet fun and "alive".
* The arrangement of the pictures and the text in the "Our services" part is very nice!
* The background with the soft blue to white background also looks good.
* The footer is nice.
* Only 1 introductory/welcome text is necessary, so the "what we offer" section is not too far down
* In the "Our services" section, if you could make the part about the hotel double size, that would be nice. Below the hotel, the highlited services could be Pet Shop, Banho e Tosa, Consultório veterinário and Terapias.
* Instead of "Other Services" that section could be named "Bem-estar animal" (it means animal wellfare), instead of the current text, a link to our animal wellfare page, "adote um cão" (adopt a dog) and keep the logos of the NGOs that are already there
* the menu is nice but there is room for some improvement, it's a bit too "plain", not sure how to improve it though
* maybe add something on the blank space on top of the menu? maybe a pic of dog lying in there, or something else if that doesn't look good. It's possible that the design will look better the way it is, without nothing up there, see what you can do...

Just wanted to give you a small update on my work. I've changed the animal and the wood. I also edited the navigation and putted everything in the right box. Also created the footer. It's still not so much professional but I hope you'll like it (I will try to add some professionalism when I finish the whole theme):

Have you got anything else to add, or should I just follow the steps you already mentioned?

I'm extending the contest until tomorrow at 2pm (forum time, GMT -3), so there is no need to get desperate

So far, the entries by leetsooc and stardesigns99 are leading the contest. However, a lot of people haven't submitted their entries yet (and I'm waiting), so the result of the contest is still completely uncertain. I'm giving feedback to everyone (whether I like their designs or not) because you spend a lot of time and effort designing so I feel the least I can do is provide you with feedback. The reason I'm telling you that is so that the designers (who are not among the top 2 that I just mentioned) who already posted their entries and are doing lots of revisions may decide whether to continue revising or not, or even coming up with something new. Thank you so far for all your work.

The contest continues until tomorrow 2pm and as I said, nothing is decided, loking forward for the revisions and new entries.

* I like the footer
* The dogs are nice, very funny, they are more similar to the cartoon style of the logo however they are still a bit different. You see, your dogs have shading (like lighting effects), the dogs on the logo have "flat" colors.
* Maybe the grass on the footer would look better on top of the wood than the current "leafs"
* There is room for improvement in the menu
* Both the menu and the NGO logos are a bit too wide, also maybe they would look better in the left side
To be totally honest with you, I have mixed feelings about your design: I personally like it a lot, its very fun and it makes me smile every time I look at it , but for the business maybe something a bit more professional (such as the entries by leetsooc or stardesigns99) is more appropriate. Anyway, at this time, your design would be my 3rd choice. I'm telling you this so that you have appropriate information to decide whether to keep working on it or not. If you think you can make it a lot more professional looking, improve the menu and replace the wood with something else I suggest you to go for it. It's your choice. Thanks for the great work so far!

I'll tell you something from my aspect, of a designer and a client. The website needs to connect you to your clients, it needs to be in the way they like it. I'm sure that it will make smile a lot of your visitors and it will attract them to you. Am i correct? Why would you need a website, that looks just like every other (professional), if a fun website like I'm offering you is going to be liked by your visitors. Isn't that the main purpose of your website - for your visitors to like it? Would you rather visit a website that looks professional and plain, or some website that's fun to watch? On which are you going to stay longer and explore? I know which one I would but you are the contest holder and it's up to you
Just my 2 cents

Anyway, I'm going to remove all the cartoon stuff from the theme and try to make it look more professional but I'm not sure if I'll meet the deadline.

Anterr: thanks for the revision, the menu looks a lot better, however it's still missing some items. You made a good point before, about the advantages of a fun web site but I'm too tired to think straight or to make any decisions (been in front of the computer writing feedbacks for about 12 hours). It would be nice to see your new design finished and, if necessary, I can wait until 9pm tomorrow. However, it's up to you whether you should keep working or not. If you decide to keep working, please add some content to the main page, according to what is specified in my previous posts. You're in the top 3, just don't know in what position among those 3 right now... I will probably ask the opinion of some of my friends, family and clients before deciding, maybe they agree with you and prefer a more fun site, maybe not, I guess we will know tomorrow. Thank you and have a good night, I'll be back tomorrow morning.

Dearadesigns: Thank you for your entry. It's a nice design, very fun, lots of nice things about it. However, it's a bit too much cartoonish and heavy on the colors. Not quite what we're looking for... Sorry.

Update:
I see some of you are struggling because there are a lot of items in the menu so it's hard to fit them on a horizontal menu. You can discard the item "Fotos", so it's one less... It's very important that all other items specified in the contest post are in the menu.

killuahxh: thank you for your entry. Nice design overall, lots of good things about it. Not much to change or revise, eveything is according to what was asked in the contest post.

vinpkl: thanks for your entry. Feedback:
* Very nice design, very professional and yet colorful and "alive", you just entered the "leading bunch".
* Good choice of images
* If possible, I'd like to see the blue you used as a primary color replaced with green, since our buildings and a lot more of the business are green in color.
* The menu items should all be in the same menu, except maybe for the "contact" item that looked good up there. You can keep "home" and "contct" up there, move "pet shop" to the orange menu and remove the "fotos" item.
* Could you please remove the white shape from behind the logo?
* I like the version with the dog on top of the menu. However, could you please replace it with a "happier" dog? One that seems like he's "smiling"...
Looking forward for the revision.
