Rules Freebies should be FREE.

    Hi,

I recently posted a thread inquiring about hosting. I was looking to buy hosting for under $5 per month, but I didn't think to post it in the free section.

Anyway, I am not complaining about my infraction. But, I am just wanting to make my suggestion clear. Freebies should be free. It's sort of rediculous to post a hostnig request (paid) in the freebies section when the hosting forum is so much a better fit.

I realize this rule might be an attempt to weed out the crap threads in the regular forums, but then you should change the name of the Freebies section.

At the end of the day $1.00 isn't free.

I do agree with you. I think the threads should remain there, but the section be re-named.

If you read the rules, you would know it belongs in Freebies.

It makes complete sense to put anything under $5 in freebies, because it keeps all the other sections clear for larger priced, serious buyers/sellers.

Yes, but when you pay for something, it isn't a Freebie.

A better option can be to have 3 distinct sections - for services/items over $5, for services/items at and below $5 and for serivices/items which are totally free.

I don't think it makes much sense from a logical standpoint to place everything under $5 in the freebies section. The name Freebies name needs to change, because freebie means "an article or service given free". Paying for such a service means that it is no longer considered a freebie.

Although you seem to be working to protect the integrity of the forum, I think that you should realize that paying for a service does not entitle it to be free. I did read the rules and I am aware that posting things under $5 belong in the free section. I have posted things here before, but it just "didn't come to mind" when requesting for paid hosting. It didn't come to mind because it isn't really a logical. Thus, the reason why I made this thread. And, I know it is a rule which is why I made my thread tag prefix "Rules".

The name of the section should change, if nothing else is to be done.

Although it may make sense to post $3 items in the freebie section in your mind, it is not logical to me.
