    What makes you think you cannot do that. Get mad at yourself, go to the window, open it and scream with all you might "I'm not going to take it", repeat 5 times. and get in touch with me in the morning.

    Nah, no need to get mad. There is no need for screaming out windows. :) Simply refuse to accept low wages.

    Be careful who you get in touch with in this thread.

    The line I used was from a classic old movie.

    I believe, but I am not sure, the movie was called W

    It involved a lot of people going to the window and screaming out , "I can't take it any more."

    Perry correct me on this one, if you know, the movie name.

    I second every point in this post. I started off as a writer offering services at decent rates. With time, my earnings have remained the same, with the effort increasing manifold- simply because of the fact that I have had to reduce my prices in order to support my services business. Initially, I thought it was because of the recession, but lately, I suppose it has become a trend. Unfortunately, unlike proseo, I had not developed other sources for getting work- so I had to give up writing alltogether. Now, I am planning to launch my services again and NOT compromise on the prices at which I would offer my services. To top it, I would be launching an official website, using which I would look to market my services to a wider audience, in anticipation of more revenue.

    I'd say start with stopping to write for $ 0.70/100 as you are adverting in your signature. In fact take that sig out, it hurts you more then it helps you.

    @jeewant gupta : . Kraven2 is absolutely correct.
    These low prices would hurt your reputation as well as finances. Even if you have some kind of writing team (I gathered as much from your mention of the words "services" and "business" etc., I would advice a minimum price of $1 per 100 words. That way, you would have better projects so you can pay your writers better and then again hire better writers, which would result in high quality work thus roping in higher paying clients... it's a circle you see? What goes around comes around : ).

    In the end, do not undervalue your work, do not underrate yourself. You can join the forum for quality writers (see Kraven2's sig) and interact with likeminded writers and great mentors over there.

    PS: You have such good iTrader. I am sure that counts for something too. I really don't understand why you mention such low rates ???

    As painful as it sounds, this is good old supply and demand at work. There are people willing to do the work for much less than you can live on, simple solution to this problem, vacate the market.

    It's helped me a great deal hanging out with Kraven. I just recently got paid $30.00 for a 1000 word article. The niche was adult, and not just something anyone could do but you know I appreciated how much they paid me, and the respect they treated me with that was given with the payment. That being said, I'm slowly starting to see a increase in payment with my article writing and I do believe that Kraven has nailed it about the attitude. I know that $30 is still not enough for some people with a 1000 word article, but it's the highest I've been paid before on one article like that and so if you hang around Kraven for awhile, some of what he's trying to say might just rub off on you.

    Well just went through the entire thread! Gosh now i see why so many people keep cribbing on this forum.

    Anyways, I agree with the originator of this thread, kraven, that Minimum limit needs to be fixed so that DP market doesn't get destroyed. Irrespective of which region the person belongs to, let there be a proper limit to the minimum charged on article writing. If a person belongs to a place where living is cheap, then its his luck. Similar is the case with the one who lives in an expensive country. If you don't want to live in your region because its expensive, then move out! Why should there be change in a particular service charge just because someone wants to live in an expensive country???

    I believe that the movie that Dy is referring to is Network. Where a bunch of people stuck their head out the window and screamed "I'm mad as hell, and I can't take this anymore" It came out in the 70's I believe. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

    But, the movie W was about George Bush, never seen it but they may have done that it the move also.
