PR2 Ecommerce Site, fully functional

A failed business venture on our end, means that our loss is your gain. I presently run three successful, and highly profitable ecommerce sites. Of the three, only this last one, did I have partners, and, it has resulted in the first failure of my business career.

We spent a fortune on the design and implementation of the site. It is a PR2, which likely will be a PR4 or PR5 after the next update. The site has been optimized and quite a bit of SEO work has already been done.

We are looking for any and all fair offers.

As of October 1, we will no longer be accepting orders on the site. I welcome any and all offers deemed by you to be fair.

    The site is:

Forgot to mention that the site was generating $4k per month in gross sales. Most came from the shopping engines. There are HUGE margins in this business.

We were buying direct from Safilo, which is the manufacturer. I will gladly give you their number. They distribute and manufacture all the brands listed on the site, and a few more.

It is a HIGHLY modified version of OSCommerce. There are thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of addons, modifications, and custom programming jobs.

Everything from the Logo, to the template, was a very, very expensive professional job.

Exact sales figures will be provided to the winning bidder. There were only about 150 products on the site. The site could easily generate $20k plus with a few hundred more products, per month. Sales grew each of the four months we were up, and would have grown again this month, to well over $5k.

To answer some questions from PM, the business failed because there were three partners, and, we could not agree on certain courses of action. There was ALOT of money spent on the design of this site, and, as you can probably see, it's also pretty well optimized.

Just so you guys know, try typing in most of those product names into google, and we already appear at or near the number one spot.

What exactly are those margins and how much are you profiting a month. Also can you PM proof of revenue? Does your vendor drop ship for you, and if not, how much inventory are you carrying?

Nice prices too, must have a good vendor. Just for fun, I froogled 'Guess 5109 Sunglasses' and your site is like $20 cheaper than anyone else!

Markups are, on average 2.5x cost. In other words, on average a $30 pair of glasses we sell for $75. That is incredible for the internet.

$50 for the site we won't even consider, but thanks for the bid. It would cost you significantly more just to get a logo (a good one) designed.

This product can't be drop shipped. We have about a $15k inventory.

So an offer should include cost of inventory, correct? Also, am I understanding correctly that you are making around $2,400 profit on $4,000 revenue?

No, sir. Obviously with every business, there are expenses, and, pay per click shopping engines are expenses, as are hosting fees, etc. I spoke ONLY to markups, not to net profit.

Furthermore, again, I think I stated that the WEBSITE is for sale, not the inventory.

OK jcambert you need to step back and look at this from our end.

You are being extremely (purposely?) vague about all the details of the site yet you seem to want us to provide you free site valuation services.

Stop beating around the bush and get to the point.

Tell us what you want for the site or at least a dollar amount range and what exactly comes with the sale. Otherwise this is just a waste of time and a thread that needs to be buried. You've turned what looks like could have been a nice quick easy sale into a mess.

Are you keeping the inventory because you plan to open a new site (without your partners) and compete with whomever purchases this site?

That's what I'm starting to wonder.... The site is 6 months old, PR2, and has an Alexa Ranking of 1,360,073. I'm afraid to even make an offer because I think it will be far below your expectations. Like GeorgeB stated, let us know what you expect and we can provide some feedback.

No, one of the three partners owns the inventory and acted as a "drop shipper" of sorts. We split the profits evenly, and, the other two partners (my brother and I), maintained the website. That is why the inventory is not being provided.

Not sure how "vague" I'm being. I've provided specifics as to revenue. What else would you like? If you aren't interested, or think that I'm being purposely vague, I encourage the exercising of your freedom NOT to bid or look at the thread.

For anyone else that might be interested, I welcome a bid.

By the way, if inventory is THAT important to you, I'm quite certain that we could work something out in that regard. I believe that my partner would be open to selling off the inventory. That probalby wouldn't be a problem. That would be completely separate, however, from the sale of the website, which is what is being promoted here.

Please just state a price of what you want for the site, instead of getting a bunch of lowball offers like $50.

You own the site and you know what you want for it so again just state it. You may turn off a lot of potential buyers and you are also going to attract a bunch of lowballers that will waste everyones time by posting useless posts.
    Thanks.

PR4 is predicted as stated (3.8)
