Why do members get banned from dp?

I mean for what reasons?. I know ripping someone off here will get you banned or spamming stuff like that. Any other reasons? Maybe Posting in wrong sections? Asking stupid questions? Bumping old threads? Replying to every post just to get your post count up? things like that?

I'm asking because i seen threads started by a member a couple days later it shows banned under his name. Since I'm new here I don't want to commit mistakes that will cost me this learning experience wit the dp familia

Users get banned for repeatedly breaking the rules. Some things (like spamming or having duplicate accounts) will get someone instantly banned, but for the most part banned users are just repeat offenders of normal rules.

Duplicate accounts are the usual case for new members that gets banned a couple of days later. People who break the rules are the ones who get banned as what Shawn has stated.

@ Shawn - by the way, I've noticed that there are members who were previously banned and now back and unbanned? Is that temporary ban? If so, what rules have they broke to get a temporary ban?

Temporary bans usually occur when someone racks up infraction points. Once it gets to 10 the ban is automatic. If, for example, they received their first point several months ago and it expires a few days after they get to 10 points their infraction point count goes down to 9. If memory serves there is also the option to zap someone for 24 hours or so if they are being a PITA.

well, there is the community guidelines that we must follow so if one member creates an offense he will be let off with a warning then if he commits it again then he will surely be banned.

There are basic rules of the forums! mostly people break them and always look for web hype through their new threads and postings! some of them try to spam through personal messages also
