I started my website http://www.screenvice.com a little over a month ago. I've just started adding content and placing ads, etc. When should I expect to see traffic coming in. The only times I get traffic is when I'm posting yahoo answers, but I can't answer yahoo answers all day long in order to get a few visitors. Last year I made a website with wordpress and was getting visitors very quickly. Do wordpress produced websites get visitors some special way. This new website I am making from scratch because of the format of my posts so wordpress is not an option. What are some ways I can increase traffic without having to post all over the internet all day?
Write an article and submit to article directories about something related to your service and link to your site. Also write a press release and submit to PR sites to get the word out there. You need to get the search engines crawling your site and get it indexed. Wordpress would have pinged the sites directly but I guess your site doesn't do it automatically now. Use pingler.com to ping the sites when you update your site. Give that a shot and see how it helps.
If you've just started adding content I wouldn't expect the traffic to start rolling in any time soon. You need to write a lot of content for traffic to start coming. You should also work on getting as many backlinks to your site as possible. Use ezine articles to get backlinks to your site. You should also focus on keyword research as well so you can figure out which long tail keywords you want to target. If you are just blindly writing articles hoping that you will rank high in google without doing any research you probably wont have very good success.
pinging lets the search engines know that your site has been updated. Use google! Click here to find out what pinging does.....
you should : - do SEO - submit your articles to social bookmarking - promote your blog to social networking it can improve your traffic
It all depends.. I've seen traffic after a few hours of throwing content online. Other times, it's taken me months for Google to index my pages.
Work hard and be patient. Have you had any luck with social media or book marking site? You can start increasing more traffic once you provide enough content and value to your site. For some reason I can't open up your page.. hmm good luck!
I agree with Justin_Dupre, work harder than what you think working hard is a lot of the time I see people complain that they've worked to hard and they expect something unrealistic. No sleep for 3 days is maybe over doing it (as I found out lol) but late nights and early mornings is certainly NOT uncommon for a new marketer. Unless of course you have some money to pay workers and you learn how to outsource properly. Try PPC networks other than the big 3, classified sites, articles, fb, video, bookmarking!
I'm not sure why you can't get to my webpage..has anyone else had luck getting onto it? I guess I've only pulled it up on my own computer and it may not work with some others. let me know... its www.screenvice.com
I just tried to load it, it's possibly the slowest website ever. I persisted ..... and a quick 10 second glance gave me this thought: it's all images! HUUUUUUGE images. That's no good... no good at all. They're too slow ... and where are your words? You can't just bang up a bunch of huge pictures, sit back and wait for traffic to turn up!
first of all, every computer I've been on loads the page in 1 second. I don't know what kind of internet speeds your workin with in the UK, but they must not be very good. Each picture is a link to a page, which is why I have the pictures. They are not just for fun. I could just make a list of movies to link to, but I am making this page as a passion project, that I want to look GOOD. Don't just tell me whats wrong with the site, tell me what I can do!
What's wrong, well.. you don't have any content. I clicked a few of the images but even then I had to guess if clicking images was what I was suppose to do. But no content means no search engine position. keywords have to be used or no one will ever find the site. Social bookmarking will help some as well as building backlinks but Google and the other search engines look for relevant content. Images unless each one has an alt= tag are not read by search engines. I would organize the images, add relevant content for each one and maybe submit a few articles about your site using keywords in the articles. You need to give search engines something to index. It did load fast for me.
Hi screenvice, I would run a blog discussing movies, etc. Become an expert in your niche. Articles will help a great deal but blogs which help to establish a one-stop-shop portal. Post your videos, articles or any other content there. You can set up backlinks after each post and create banners as well. This should help to boost traffic. Ryan Biddulph
Wordpress is the best as Google loves it. All my sites are wordpress powered! I would say make sure your site is well optimized!
I would love to use wordpress for its optimization features, but I am creating this website from scratch with adobe software. What is the next best thing I can do since I don't have wordpress?
Your biggest problem is that you have no content. All you have on your homepage is pictures, which are not indexed by the search engines. The search engines want a "user-friendly experience", which means unique, informative content. Just to see if you had any content anywhere, I clicked on the Bruce Almighty picture, and it took me to a one-paragraph description of the movie, that was written in about size 100 font. I literally backed away from the screen when it popped up! Once you get your content in order, be patient. It can take weeks, or even months, for new websites to see any real results. Good luck to you!
submit your articles to article submision, submit your blog to high pagerank directory... and submit your site to search engine..
