Hi all, right ive identified a keyword domain id like to buy, the competition is medium..

for instance "problemswithlcdtv.com" ( this is not the domain i want but its available so go get it if you like !), if that domain was purchased what would be the chances of it hitting page one on google...when googleing "problem with lcd tv"

also what do you use to identify google keywords?

    http://www.google.com/sktool/#

    or

    https://adwords.google.com

    thanks

I don't use sktool, because I find adwords accurate enough to find the right keywords.

I think the chances are very good if you have proper onpage elements outside the url, title, descrip, h1, keyword tags, and onpage copy, as well as a decent backlinking effort. Since it's medium I would say you can dominate if you do all of the above, but is the traffic worth it?

you could get on the first page of google since the compeition isn't that stiff. It wont be easy but you need to focus on getting lots of links and putting up relevant content on your site with good keyword density. The effort will be worth it in the end!

Having the keyword in the domain name is a big advantage but it would not on its own carry you through on the first page. You need to do regular seo stuff as well... to compliment this advantage.

For me, I would choose a keyword with is more broad rather than much specific like that. And you can still rank with that keyword and have good chance to rank too in other close related keywords.. it's all based on how effective you do your optimization.

You need to look at exact search results for the keyword in domain. "problems with lcd tv" = 170 searches global searches per month. Don't use the default broad match. Then look at the first 10 results for the keyword and see your competition.

Keyword in Domain is added advantage as it gives relevancy to the content of web page and that's why Google love it, but it is not alone can do anything for you. You need to apply all SEO techniques to get ranked well.
First you need to optimize your site properly and then get some quality ( relevant and from good PR/ranking sites) backlinks.

    Second, I prefer
    https://adwords.google.com for keyword research.
