Hi all DP members, I have some questions regarding web hosting features and details. I have searched for answers on DP and google but still confusing me. Here are the questions :
    1. IP Address : I see a web hosting provider offers me a number of IP Addresses for a dedicated server plan. What is such a lot of IP addresses for? Should I take attention to that feature?
    2. RAM : Another confusing issue is about RAM, what is the difference between dedicated RAM and burstable?
    3. Bandwidth : I have some websites under a VPS account. I want to split into small hosting plans and need bandwidth calculation for each websites. How is the best way to calculate how much bandwidth which is needed for a single site? Is cPanel awstat valid?
in this case, which is more efficient and effective (for SEO purpose) between splitting into single small hosting plan for each domain in different hosting providers or still VPS plan?
    4. Operating System : which is most reliable OS in your opinion or what is your preferred OS on your hosting?

So far, those are my questions. I'll appreciate for any answers. Thanks in advance.

    Hey, i'll try answer these:

    1. You basically only need 2 IPs (1, sometimes) for name servers. They can be used for SSL certs and SEO aswell.
    2. Guaranteed RAM is memory that is ALWAYS available to you. Burstable RAM is memory that is available to you when you need it. (For example, Nitros on a car)
    3. It all depends on how much bandwidth everything uses currently.
    4. CentOS

I think you should stay with shared hosting, but if you really want a server, find a managed VPS with cPanel.

1.Yes if you want to rank high in SE then you need to use different IP for each website.

2.Both are the same but dedicated ram is more important for you.

3.The different IP is the way for SEO purpose.

    4.CentOS
