How many Twitter followers do you have?

As the title says I was wondering how many followers you have on Twitter and how long has it has taken you to gain these followers plus what is you main reason for using Twitter?, Please vote

376 Twitter followers after a few months. I simply put a tiny 16px Twitter logo/link in the footer of my site and that's about all for promotion of the feed.

 

Depends on which methods you use... whitehat will about about 50-100 per month in most cases, some cases way more.

 

Currently i have total 1000+ follower and 2001 following -- lol .. got a following limit

 

5000+ followers .. working on it since March 2010

 

I have a few:
1. 5000+
2. 3300+
3. 2000+
3. 1800+
4. 1500+

i have a couple of others, I just can't remember what they are right now.

 

I've got 2182 followers, but that hardly matters. What counts to me is the traffic brought from it. According to Google analytics, I had 74 visitors from Twitter in the last 30 days. Which makes me think that Twitter is a huge loss of time... There are better ways to build traffic.

How much engagement with your followers do you make and have you tried to make sales to you followers etc?

IMO - I Would say that's down to the fact you have only tweeted 112 times? 71 visitors from 121 tweets = Tweet more!

 

hmmm.... It depends who is following you. If you have genuine followers interested in your brand/product/site then they will come by the dozen if you link in your tweet. I use my followers to promote my site to their followers if they think it is worth it (which it is ). Ultimately it's about what circles you move in and who you know which will determine if they visit your site or not. For example if you have a blog about Linux Development then having a bunch of hardcore football fans who followed you because you followed them won't help but having a bunch of IT guys following you will be good.

Great to see many off you having some good followers! I would still like to know if you make any sales etc to your followers...

 

Almost 40k total between a couple accounts. Just have to stay disciplined and work towards new followers each day, while unfollowing those who don't follow you back.

 

I know there are sites that you can sign up and automatically get new followers (I believe they're usually reciprocal in nature.) I'm sure most of them are following thousands of other users and could be spammers, but are there any reasons why you shouldn't do this just to get a higher number?
