I've been using Google Analytics since starting my blog & domain & wordpress software (6/22). I've noticed that for the past 3 - 4 days my traffics been about 20 - 25 unique visitors per day. What can I do to increase my traffic. I'm referring to the blog link in my signature. Thanks, Andy...
Is the blog in the signature? It seems like you have a good blog going. Good luck. You can increase traffic by participating in the following: 1) find blogs in your own niche and then participate by leaving comments with a link back to you site 2) find relevant forums to your niche and participate 3) You can work on building your backlinks and improve your SEO. I just finished a post on this on my blog. Marketers Challenges with Building Backlinks. 4) buy advertisement on PPC - don't recommend this to you yet. I hope it helps.
Well #2, I'm already doing. I'm in 5 different mental health related forums and I have my link in the signature of my posts. I'm not really wanting to buy advertising just yet, because I don't have the additional money right now. I only had enough for the domain & hosting. (luckily the blog software was free).
I like the way you're working this netsavy. Keep on doing what you're doing. You have a very specific niche with a very clear target audience. While PPC could help boost short term traffic, I really don't think this is the way to go for a blog like this. You may try a little bit of twitter magic - register for twitter and post frequently. I would recommend using a twitter widget on your blog to dynamically post your tweets on your site somewhere (right nav or footer maybe). This may seem like information redundancy, but it may help you rank better in the search engine rankings for particular keywords thus giving you a better shot at increasing traffic without paying for clicks.
Hi there, Well, if you are already doing #2 perhaps you need to intensify your efforts. What you are doing is part of the Off-Page SEO tactics which entail MANY more things. Have you done your On-Page SEO already? If not, then concentrate on adding more content that is of superior quality, and have your keyword or keywords in it. Add meta tags and optimize your H tags.
No don't change subject... many many parents like me have kids with the same issues and they can't find information, support and advise. I think you're on a good niche. I tried to add to my facebook it crashed my browser (change that plugin), I added it to twitter... do the same on your own account, join a groups on FB, add new friends and keep posting daily.
Very very good advice. I also believe it is a great Niche. Don't change the subject. Continue to do what you are doing but let others in your niche know about it. Also start building backlinks to your site for related keywords. It will add up soon and trust me you will benefit immensely.
I agree- that isn't quite a saturated market yet. I had success with a free starter account in Facebook advertising ($100 in free clicks). Do some research on writing ad copy first. Even if it needs to be a little humorous with a wacky photo to get their attention to the ad block. Mental illness isn't funny- but thinking outside the box is what it will take to get targeted traffic. Good luck! I have a feeling you are going to do well with that one.

I believe the best way would be to start contributing (with comments) to other bloggers who have a similar story and ask them if you can write a guest post on their blog.
