Does changing your domain from wordpress.com to a new domain that you own allow you any benefits in terms of being able to add custom blog skins, advertise, or do anything like this?

Check out all the available plugins, insert it in a widget and you're done.

I have adsense on my site and I never had to do a single code.

There are quite a lot of plugins to do the work for you if you do not want to modify the theme. Actually adding adsense to a theme is quite easy too. Just take the adsense code, open the theme editor. Go to sidebar.php and paste the adsense code there if you want the code to be seen in the sidebar. Easy huh ?

All you have to do is add the code in a text widget.......go into the appearance tab in your dashboard, then hit widgets, then drag a text widget to whatever sidebar you want, open it up and paste in the code. It will take about 10 minutes to actually show up on your site. It's easy, pm me if you need more help.

Just down load a plugin on wordpress you may download it on your admin area, search the plug-in with the terms like adsense or adsense manager I think, there would be many, install one of them and then add your adsense code, it would be displayed on your every post and page, depending on the setting.
