well that is not right because i wasnt the only person that got this email so a company targetted a few publishers and left the 80% others? i mean wtf cpalead was happy with movie/tv show sites since the begining. they even have a section for movies while creating their widget so they obviously just used that as an excuse to ban and take my earnings

Well, that's a bit of a cash grab on them keeping your money. The damages thing is a lot of BS. If they didn't want that they could have banned the movie accounts but always said use it and if we get in trouble you'll get hit too.

Word is that they've lost a lot because they tried to milk copyright materials and monetizing where as others got out of it. It's a trade off for them right, make the dirty money then pay for it later or take the high road and reap benefits later.

Sucks for everyone involved at the end of the day.

Why don't you try Peerfly? Try to chat them using their contact form or add them in your AIM messenger, and to ask if they allow movie sites. You can ask them everything, especially the copyright infrigement thing. Their admin is very friendly and always entertaining questions and inquiries from anyone.

CPALead could be a very doubtful site, and I think their customer support and admin is not friendly and just saying "HAHA" and steal your 9 grand!

Take extra caution when your setting up a movie site or using a movie site as your sole method of promotion. It's being taken very serious now by advertisers and networks.

We have not revoked payment for these reasons unless we are legally obligated by court order. If your content does not meet the standards of a few of our advertisers we will remove those offers from you.

We have banned a slew of people recently for frauding our offers with proxies and sock5's using bots and automated fill-out survey scripts. Of course they won't tell you that side of the story if we revoke payment for that reason.

if you dont realise that having a movie site is against the law in the first place then your an idiot, and if your hosting your site in the US then your even more of an idiot. You are monetising stolen property and no different from the guys bootlegging DVDs on street corners.

Eventually CPALead will get enough flack that you wont be able to have cpalead on any page that has a video on it, exact same thing that happened to companies that have come before them e.g. Zango.

So that means movie blogs are also illegal as well for CPALead? There are many movie blogs there, so they are an idiot?

yes, plain and simply you are advertising and profiting off pirated content. Also most likely using copyrighted content on the site aswell, for instance having the show name in the domain or using images that are copyrighted.

For the most part it doesnt really matter for the little guys because its not worth them chasing you up apart from the odd C&D letters, then are numerous examples of the bigger sites getting shut down once they get extremely popular.

They are probably getting tougher and more serious about copyright infringement etc thanks to what happened a couple weeks ago with the US gov. and Illegal movie sites. You need to go with affiliate programs that are in the movie niche that promote legal movies.

You don't get it do you? I'm talking about a movie blog, and you completely ignored it. So that means CPALead will ban movie blogs for just creating unique content and news updates, not pirated movies huh?

Is a unique article on a movie blog considered pirated content and be banned by CPALead as well?

Jesus. It's like bashing your head against a wall posting here

Obviously I'm not talking about movie news blogs, also good luck getting people to fill in surveys to read your content lol!

I'm only asking, just to make sure that movie blogs are not a problem for CPALead. I'm planning to create my own movie blog and I'm not planning to let them fill surveys before they read content, but only to promote them in a nice way. Thanks. :)

so it sounds like movie/tv sites are ok as long as you aren't trying to trick cpa leads widgets into being auto filled ect...

if the advertiser doesn't want to be displayed on a site with movie/tv links, it won't show in your list of surveys for viewers to fill out.

If you have a blog that is unique content using sources approved by the copyright holder (ie they have an official youtube video and allow embed codes) you will likely be alright. The issue is using any material that indfringes the copyright of the contents owner.

This holds true for books, photos, art, video etc. Newspapers run content that is distributed - or 100% unique for this very reason it is the same for all publishers (website, blog, radio, online offline).

If you run any content that is in violation of the owners trademark, or copyright you risk being banned and could face charges for copyright infringement.

Most networks stipulate in their terms that your content must not infringe copyrights of others. It is not their job to police you - it's your job as a publisher to follow the rules...

Wow, due to the recent crackdowns this is getting real nasty on movie blogs.
    But! try adscendmedia man again.
I like cpalead, i will stick with it for sure. :p.
As Troy says if your innocent you will get your $$~
But I suggest you to contact them if you think you didn't do any bot or something stuff on it.
