Hello, Well I am a newbie in this thing so just wanted to ask i am submitting to like 30-40 directories everyday which have some PR like 1+ . So i was wondering is it really worth my effort or I am just wasting my time. Will it get me backlinks and will it be helpful for PR or SERP ? Thanks, Djoy
Everything you did, it's very impressive (30-40 directories/day), I can not think how about you have done. Do you have any tips for this :->
It will give you some backlinks and it may increase your PR though not by much. But do not rely only on directory submissions, try other forms of link-building too.
I agree with brian65. Directory links will help your serps but you should combine it with a wide range of link building activities.
Oh, for God's sake, stop spreading this nonsense around. You should know better than that. There are sites with PR 0 or 1 on index page in Google because of content they are offering, which has nothing to do with amount of backlinks they have. Content = SERP = traffic Backlinks = PR = green image on GTB fastreplies
OK then, explain to me how does it work? How backlinks increase SERPs? Give me examples and give me facts fastreplies
fastreplies Welcome back. They keep banning you but then they make the mistake of letting you back in. Links are one of the most important ranking factors in Google's algorithm. Content alone will get you nowhere.
@fastreplies I find it very hard to believe that you own a directory and you are unaware that backlinks are the most important factor in determining search engine rankings. A few links that might help explain SEO Moz Backlinks and SEO Thanks Brian
Well, somebody must kick your ass when you are talking nonsense, so they let me back once in a while to keep you straight I never said nothing about that. Why bring something that has nothing to do with my point? Well, you leave me no choice but to make you eat you own poop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YixNK00GNRY http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=5GK0aQrCDEo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXgni6U6qk8 Show me where Matt Cutts says anything about PR effect on SERP Again, where am I talking about backlinks as a factor? I'm saying that content will make or break site and NOT PR Watch what MC says and learn. fastreplies
It could increase your site's PR if you submitted it to quality directories. How to find quality directories? It's the hardest part.
I would advice you to rotate your titles and descriptions to make these submissions count. Keep up with 30/40 submissions per day.
Yes. If your site got listed on the directory, then that's additional backlinks for site which increase your pr and serp ranking.
What are your facts? Show me any evidence. Are you saying that Matt Cutts is an idiot and you "genius" know more than him? I'll give you hand. Here is what he is saying. Is he just making this up? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YixNK00GNRY http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=5GK0aQrCDEo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXgni6U6qk8 Go ahead, show everybody how smart you are fastreplies
Of course it helps, add as many links as possible, but with stronger effect...use more than one type of websites like: article directories, bookmarking websites, blogs, normal websites, podcast websites, youtube and other video websites...and so on...
Anything that you do to promote your site is going to do more to either help or harm it than simply doing NOTHING.
Content is king as recited throughout the thread. I also wanted to mention that if you are only submitting to pr0 or 1 directories you are gaining very minimal link juice from the link. If you are paying for the directories your money would be better spent combining article syndication with some higher ranked directories of minimum pr 4. This will give you more juice and better quality of backlink. Google is more concerned with the quality of your backlink not the quantity. For example one backlink from 1 pr 8 is worth 1000's of pr 0 backlinks. In short build up your backlink profile with good quality directories and articles, then perhaps pursue a site wide link on a blog or site highly related to your niche with a decent pr e.g 3+ Hope that helps Eolas
I am not saying that backlinks in directory alone is the factor that can increase pr and serp ranking. Those are still backlinks and backlinks is one of the factor why pr increases as well as serp ranking.
If I might join this discussion -- relationship between PR and SERP -- here is what Matt Cutts says about it on this Sphinn thread http://sphinn.com/story/74952/
