Can I keep my name unknown to the sender?

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by saurav_kataruka, Jul 12, 2010.

I have a paypal account and have an email id associated with it which doenst reflects my real name. Suppose, someone tries to send me some money thorugh paypal. Will he/she be able to see my real name if I provide the email id(which doesnt reflects my name)?

If yes, at what stage? before making the payment? or after making the payment?

Is there any way to keep the real name unknown to the sender? If it is directly not possible, Can someone suggest me any other way to get around this. Plz Help.

Ok. But, at what stage? Before making the payment? or after making the payment?

Is there any other way, any trick? I dont want the sender to know my name.

That's right. Your name will be shown after payment.
Your name will also reflect in the heading of the email receipt like this-

"Your receipt of payment to xxxxx (real name)"

You need a business account to hide your real name. There is no other way.

    Thanks for the replies.

So, what is the procedure of opening a business account?

    ------------------

If the sender sees the real name after payment can he at that point cancel the payment?

    ---------------------------

Is it possible to transfer fund from an unverified account to another unverified account?

Suppose, I create an account with a false name and the sender pays me to this account. Can I transfer funds from this account to my Real Account? What are the charges deductible for such transfer?

i think you are trying to do some fraud's or some scam's is'nt it...

if you make an fraud name a/c .paypal will block your a/c and you will lose all your money if they found your making fraud via paypal or using paypal for fraud's..

    No. Not at all.

It's just a situation. Actually Me and my brother both are members of a forum where they pay some cash for winning contests. Now, I have a paypal account which is linked to my bank account and I can withdraw funds. But, my brother doesnt have a bank account and cannot withdraw funds directly from paypal.

So, He is willing to use my paypal account with a different mail id. But, I am afraid that the admin of the forum may not pay twice for the same contest to a same paypal account. I hope that makes it clear. I am not at all thinking about any scam/fraud.

    now, if possible, suggest something.

    1. First of all you need a Bank account under your business name to open a paypal business account. Moreover you can only open a business account if you really own a business.

    2. The sender can not cancel the payment but he can open a dispute case.

    3. Yes, it is possible to transfer fund from an unverified account to another unverified account but it has a lifetime limit of $500 only.

    4. Yes, you can transfer funds from your false name unverified account to your Real account (I've done this in past until my limit reached to $0) but don't do any thing fishy.

The fee is around 2.9% + 0.30$ (not sure about current rate)
