My SEO results after 4 years.

I thought I would share my SEO results after 4 years of efforts, for those just starting out - there is hope!

In Jan/Feb of 2006 I had an idea for a site, I thought it was quite a niche market and if I could get 5 - 10 visitors a month to complete a quote form on my site I would consider it a success.

As you can see by the attached image, in 4 years I have received 139,424 visitors from search engines (non paid traffic!). Of those 111,876 have been from Google. Today the site receives more traffic than we want actually. Our goal is for customers to fill out our quote request, so we can hopefully convert them into customers.



We receive about 300 people completing the form every day (remember in 2006 I was hoping for 5 - 10 a month!). We have since had to improve the quote form to actually screen out 90% of the people who want to be customers. We simply can not process the volume of requests.

Even after these years, I don't think there is any major competition for the keyword space and no really no one else who is 'serious' in the market space.

The bounce rate is very low, and the site converts very well. Probably the single largest mistake I made originally was not having a unique title on every page. I just had some generic title, and that was hurting our rankings. It took only a few weeks after giving every pages a unique title that our SEO rankings shot up and the traffic started to flow.

For fear of loosing rankings, the site never changes. Yep, you read it correctly. We don't add content or make changes. The site is static now and has been for several years.

Find a niche market and build a site with legit content, do not engage in mini-net link scams. Simply deliver an honest website that people want and the traffic will naturally come.

Congratulations! It's nice to see success stories like this bolstered by solid proof. I only wish I had 4 years to build mine...

 

The site generates revenue by converting the visitors into customers, there has never been any ad revenue on the site. We never even attempted to put ads up, I know a lot of people want to make money off ads. I have tried generating revenue from ads on other sites, but the sites never do well in rankings.

I wanted to share the graph as I think it is quite amazing. I remember getting to excited as the rankings started to go up, but now the site holds the #1 ranking (and #2 in a lot of cases) for all keywords we were targeting. So the ranking rush is over, just interesting to see the traffic keep increasing. Based on the numbers, don't waste your time trying to target BING of Yahoo. Just do what you think will work with Google, the rest don't matter much.

Its really good that traffic keeps increasing after such condition of the site. But if u kept on changing the content the site may grow more faster and can have more traffic
and backlinks.

Its good to see that you have succeeded in seo, from my side i never do any SEO and i do get some good search engine traffic. The thing is if you have good service and great content then your site gets listed automatically
