Yesterday interesting thing happened to my website: The pages are still there in the index if I check with site: or via google webmaster tools. However after getting 1K+ daily UVs from Google I get nothing. The website doesn't rank for any keywords whatsoever even if I construct the query in such a way that it would be the only result. However when I add site:mysite.com to the query - results appear. It very much looks like a ban to me. However my understanding was that when you get banned - pages disappear from the index altogether. Did anyone experience anything like this?
This might be so that google is taking time in showing your website in their main search , first they add to their main index [ which you can check by mysite:www.example.com] after some time the website will start appearing in the main search , so be patient , but if it takes too long then you might contact google. ___________________________________________ Pakblogger
That would have been fine except for the fact that my website already was in the main search for about a month before that happened. I know that I've done some shady SEO things with it. It's just that I never heard of the website being banned this way.
Well, if your for sure cheating the system then you are banned. although its showing up now a little in a few days they will disappear.
If your site is still pretty new so you might have had the benefit of a boost that Google gives to new sites. This boost usually lasts for about a month or two and then it is all up to you to get your site up in the serp's. Also it could be your site ended up being sandboxed. Nothing uncommon either for new sites, especially if your seo looked shady to Google or if you were trying to push things a little bit too hard and your link buildimng doesn't seem natural to Google. Just wait a couple weeks and see what's going to happen. Don't expect a new site to get up really high in serp's right ahead. too much of a competition and too many factors that matters for a site to rank high. One factor for instance is the domain age. its not a ban if you can find your site indexed on google or find the pages by searching site:url looks like your ranking dropped for some reason for which you are not getting any traffic
Here is a tool wherein you can check whether you ar banned in Google or not: http://www.iwebtool.com/google_banned
It's not banned. Big G arrange sites ranking time to time. Some of my sites went from Pg 1 to Pg 200 plus for weeks but eventually came back again. The longest I had ever counter was in the neverland for 2-3 months before coming back stronger. Just continue to promote your site - but dont over do it, she will be back in no time. Cheers
I think without any hard reason Google is not banning any one, Google some time make changes in db and when it does sites some time totally disappear from it. Check 301 redirect , I got hammer due to this 7 keywords from page 1 disappears just in 4 hours. And it takes a lot of time to recover.
I would suggest if you known the reason and work upon them and again resubmit it to google for reconsideration
if u r using some black hat tricks or unethical algorithm tats y google puts ur site in sand box for review.
try to do some social bookmarking.. it will sure help you to stabilize your keyword rank... one of my website was banned in google also.. but after 3 months hard social bookmarking i got it in perfect position now...
I don’t think you’re banned, google changes its algorythms all the time....and it’s possible that your website disspaears for a couple of days from top 100 and then show up again on a better position than before...so i wouldn’t worry that much about it...it happened to me too with my little blog but it came back on an even better position than before...so...maybe you should focus on adding some content and some more links...
If number of indexed pages of your website is decreased a lot and you are losing your traffic from Google, Your website is penalized by Google and it takes some months to return to it's previous situation.
