I understand that with websites and blogs you may never stop promoting or maybe it can. I'd like to know for those that have the heavy traffic, where can you stop promoting your site/blog heavily and start reducing the amount of promoting that you do to the point here you just let the site/blog promote itself? I hope this all make since. Please reply as I'm looking forward to your answers. Thanks, Andy...
There is no true answer to this.... If you are getting your UV's from Google (Google is very fickle). You can be up one day and down another. Also, just because you decide to stop doesn't mean you have to stop for ever (consider it being on a break). So I hope this helps. Good luck.
I would say until you have networked sufficiently enough where others cross promote you in droves, you will have to promote your blog or site. Even guys who run the most popular blogs on the web promote. As far as promoting a blog or site aggressively it all depends on how much your presence has expanded. If you become a known internet or offline celebrity, you're probably set. Other than that promote like heck. Ryan Biddulph
I don't think you can really stop since we really can't stop evolving. It's important to keep up with the game and try to be a step ahead of everyone else. Unless your super successful like shoemoney or john chow, I mean you may shift concentration and focus to work on other things but you still have to eventually come back and promote it to increase more traffic...hope this helps..
Hi, It all depends on YOU. If you write great content then having great traffic will help others promote you, but if you write rubbish, the day you stop promoting is the end of your traffic. Hope this helps? Thanks a lot, -Onibalusi
when you have around 300/400 returning visitors you are done. they will spread the word for you, especially when you have great content
Agree with factchecker really. Ultimately, the more you promote (correctly) the better you will do. But you really need to understand what traffic gen tactics are working NOW. If the video tutorials on my theprofessionalmarketer.com site will help you (or anyone) pls PM and I'll provide you with access.
Not 100% true. You will always need to keep up promoting your site. YOu can be rank # 1 on one day but jump back down to 3rd page the next day. This is all part of seo. Sites with over 10,000 viewers can take it easy for a bit cause they have a regular stream of visitors but it is the money that drives them to do better. Take Kijji for instance. They have a page rank of 7, which is very very good and yet they advertise on google adwords like crazy. So if you want the ranking and the money then you need to keep at it. Otherwise just work for someone else and retire at 65 with hardly anything to show forth. hope this helps
