Twitter and Backlinks

Dear Pals,

Some people tell that Twitter can make backlinks for your site, is it right?
In my opinion, Twitter just generate more traffic. If Twitter can make backlinks, please give me some idea to make it possible. Thanks...

 

I am not sure about twitter and backlinks, but twitter can be a very effective traffic builder. Facebook also builds traffic effectively.

 

Well a lot of folks have their tweets aggregated on other websites or lifestreams... heck, i have my tweets showing up on my tumblr site.. so in a way, yes they are legitimate backlinks.. not to mention the more times it gets retweeted the better chances of it landing on a non twitter.com domain.

It can create backlinks. After posting a tweet with a link in it, I found that tweet turn up on another site with my link in it and I got some traffic from it.
Was picked up by a site called tweetcepts or something.

 

Yeah twitter links consider as backlinks but they are no-follow.

With the changes to google though, you will see tweets appearing amongst the search engine traffic. Particularly if they have received a lot of attention on twiter and news related.

 

You cant put a direct or full URL on twitter as far as what i can see.

 

Links in twitter are in nofollow. Twitter is just used for increasing traffic to your website.

 

from my knowlegde twitter cant generate backlinks its generate only traffic for your site.....

Well documented that Twitter is no follow, but the residual effects make it well worth it...

 

Twitter is a good platform to drive traffic, it depends on how well you do it, but you don't get any back links from social networks like twitter, face book etc.

 

twitter can not generate the back link can it give you the nofallow and in no fallow mean search engine will not crol it

 

Twitter can get you a lot of traffic but the links are not not SEO friendly as they are nofollow. These links are similar to Yahoo answers, great traffic but not of much use to your PR.

 

I believe that it can help you to have more traffic ALSO however nofollow backlinks are not important as dofollow ones. But they still can help.

 

Great for traffic, but backlinks is a big nope.
