Hello. Since AdSense has some weird requirement about displaying clear Terms of Service on your site that third party cookies are served to the visitor, I was wondering if my blog, using Wordpress needs such TOS too? For example, proxy sites need to have the TOS, but do blogs have to have it too? Regards!
I think there is a module for that in Wordpress. Look it up on their extensions page. I'm pretty sure I used it. Google search "adsense privacy policy generator", and just type in your site name- it will be created for you in seconds.
Yeah, I meant the Privacy Policy, not TOS. So I am required to spare one page for a generic message saying that third party ad cookies may be served by Google. Can I get banned for not having Privacy Policy?
It's not a "generic message" - it tells visitors how to opt out from the cookie Google sets. It's also a good place for you to tell your visitors whether you collect other data from them, and what you will do with any such data. I don't know if you would get your account disabled for not having one, but considering it takes only a few minutes to add one to your site (there are lots of online samples you can use), why would you NOT ad one?
You mean from the Google Search Engine pages? Because AdSense is a separate thing from Google Search.
I never had this kind of page in my site or blog, but I think so it is needed, but I never get a ban.
Wow. I honestly didn't know about this. Thanks for the info. I'm checking out the PP generator right now for my blog. Why is it now on the Adsense homepage? Or is it and I missed it?
Google can't provide you with a privacy policy, since every web site is going to be different. They do tell you what yours should include: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=100557 (You'll need to look at the page at the link I provided for more information and live links)
