My friend is trying to find a place to register a domain with the word "facebook" in it. He tried to register facebookreactivation and godaddy and namecheap wouldn't let him. Anyone know of a site? Preferably offshore?

if all the reputable domain registrars wont touch that domain, then maybe you should be concerned about the morals of the registrar that would. what is to stop a shady offshore company taking your domain or giving you crappy service. could he not try using FBookreactivation or something like that?

Even if you did manage to have this name registered... there is every chance of you losing the same very soon... for copyright infringement. It is better you select an alternative name as suggested by 'redrage'.

Right, and we all know what happens to registrars who don't care for ICANN regulations or trademark issues...they may register the domain for you, but they'll close shop sooner or later and your domain will be gone.

or you could use typos i guess.. if the site is about the service for reactivating facebook accounts, any names would get good traffic. alternatively, it may be worth trying free risky domain names such as .tk or .co.cc or .co.nr - try them.
