You have to create a subdomain *.yourdomain.com that's a wildard DNS so then Wordpress can create subdomains for blogs that you create. I think that's how you do it.

no, Just go to your cpanel >> subdomain >> in the field of subdomain enter * and select your domain and press submit. It's done. If you have no idea, then just ask your host to do so (mention your url there)

To do this your zone should look like this: If you want to wild card the www/ftp, etc., or any other subdomain but want to add a mail server with a distinctive name, it should look something like this, complete with MX record.
