If you are getting so many hits and have 8000 users I'm guessing you have a lot of threads and posts?

Surely organic traffic from search engines would keep the forum growing now without the need to pay people?

Guys, calm down.
What the seller is saying is that the forum promices the members to get paid for posting. He obviously can't keep up with his promices, so this is his attempt to dump the site, take the cash and run away.
The new owner will be obligated to pay up. That's why the seller insists that he's selling the traffic only. It's clear that the site as it is will be closed.
You will inherit thousands of angry members demanding their money. Then the "trafic" will die following site's closure - because a promice to get paid for posting was the only attraction.
Beware. Know what you're buying.

 

When the buy buys the site, will all members be paid?

 

All members with payments due will be paid until the end of this month as a part of the terms of the sale.

Or, if the buyer prefers, he/she may extract the monies due this month from the payment for the site and pay the members themselves. These payments normally amount to $75-125 per month. Now, i really cant say fairer than that!

BUT... once again i stress that the point of this post is not really the site, it is the traffic.

I am trying to be as clear, explicit and honest as I can.

@ Midano: I have no intention of 'running away with cash'. Although i appreciate the concerns within your post, I believe the tone and accusation to be unfair. All members will be paid for this, the last month.

Accusing anyone of anything was not my intention. If you're offended by that - I apologize.
However, the way your original post is worded does raise some red flags. My post is nothing but a "worst case scenario".

@ Midano: Yes, i understand that, but If I was some kind of conman, I would have mentioned that everything was great with the site... 8,000 members, etc etc. It would have been pretty easy if I was that was inclined and the red flags you have mentioned are simply straight talking about the state of the site. Anyway, apology accepted.
