Brand New Product - Easy Sales

    Hi All,
I'm thrilled and excited about a brand new product I have developed with my partner Samantha. It has just gone live within the last few days on Clickbank.

*NOTE TO AFFILIATES* This is your chance to get in right at the beginning of a brand new product and even if you are not musical you will still be able to makes sales from this because you will be provided with everything you need!

Samantha and I are both experienced musicians, Samantha being an extremely talented, professional piano teacher and we identified a niche for absolute beginners to learn how to play great songs on piano without needing to read musical score. It's called A.S.A.Piano! and is exactly that. It gets beginners playing full songs as soon as possible using video, audio, printed sheets and the biggest selling point is a learning forum where Samantha will post tips and answer questions regarding the material. This is cool because it will create a relationship so will cut down any chance of refunds.

I'll give you a little background. I began Internet Marketing October 2009 and, like for most people the first year has been tough but rewarding and great fun. I'm now making regular sales of 3 products and have generated around $1000 turnover in under a year purely from article marketing. Several of the products I market are now page1 of Google for highly rated Keywords so things are looking promising. It was always my intention to however develop my own musical product, so I identified a niche and have spent the passed 4-6 months creating A.S.A.Piano with Samantha.

What I have also realized over the last year of IM is that affiliates appreciate and need as much help as possible. I've had some very shoddy dealings with Vendors who don't actually seem to care. Well I won't be like that I guarantee. Our affiliates will be given every chance of making lots of sales out of our product and I will always personally reply to any emails.

Take a look here at the main sales page: www.asapiano.com

Take a look here at the affiliate page: www.asapiano.com/affiliates.htm

I'll be happy to answer any questions. Please post them on the forum though so that everyone can benefit.

    All the best
    Shayman

I'd have a hard time promoting this, but I have a friend that's finishing up his bachelors in musical theory, so I'm definitely going to shoot this his way. I know he has a guitar blog, so maybe he could find a way to promote it through that or some other way. Cool idea, though.

Background colors are a bit too much. Also, affiliates are going to have problems with the opt-in. Other than that, gl .

    Few ideas to consider:

Smaller table width for the text - Makes it easier to read.

Also, space out your paragraphs a little more as it helps keep reader interest.

Background it too bright and distracting.. Maybe a dull blue/purple

Testimonials are a must. If you havent got any yet you can get plenty by giving your product out for free and asking for a testimonial in return.. Post a job on elance.com "testimonials wanted" You can even get video testimonials. You can also get them from this forum for free.

Split test with and without the optin box using google website optimizer.

It looks like you have put good effort into the product. It would be a shame if you didnt make some sales from it.

    Good luck,

    Drew

As others have said, I would definitely consider changing the colors, table size and spacing. It kind of slaps you in the face when you open the page.

Get your partner to make lots of videos of playing full pieces, and little snippets of beginner tricks. Give these to your affiliates to water mark and put there own links in all the info areas of the video platforms. I think you can get a lot of relatively easy sales if you work the video angle cleverly.

Hey All, Sorry for my late reply. I'm UK based so I've probably been in bed! :) I really appreciate all for feedback, the positive and the negative so I'll have a good look at everything over the next few days and post back.

I kind of wanted the site to have a bright feel to it, but I'm not pig headed enough to ignore advice from people who know their stuff so if the general consensus is that it's too bright then I'll address that.

We're working on getting testimonials right now so that should be sorted out soon. It's very easy to just make them up but I don't like that as an option, it's probably illegal anyway and hopefully we'll get some genuine ones very quickly. (I'll try not to keep saying A.S.A.P!;)

Spacing the paragraphs is no problem.

Sam is away at the moment but we were planning more video to give out but thanks for that idea.

I think that covers all the points. Yes we have worked really hard at this but love what we do and hope this will show to both customers and affiliates alike.
    Anymore feedback would be great.

Dalyinx, if you can get your friend to promote us then that would be really cool. If he wants to drop me a line I'd be happy to discuss ideas with him.

    Many thanks
    Shayman1 (Martin)

P.S. Onlinemoniez please could you let me know why the opt in could be an issue? Is it because there is a possibility to hijack the aff link or something?

Maybe he means the affiliates will be upset because they need to opt in to get promotional materials? I know for sure that affiliates aren't very happy when they need to mess around with getting promotional materials via e-mail or whatever so maybe change that so all of your potential affiliates can see your marketing materials right from your affiliate page.

I right I see Le Dangles. The only reason I've done that is so that I can keep affiliates updated every week with articles, keywords and stuff but I take your point now. I'll add the banners and whatever else I can to the affiliates page in that case.

    Well spotted and thanks

The sales page is way too short, not giving your readers/potential customers a "deeper" insight view of your product.

The spacing/alignment/size of your text/paragraphs needs a few adjustments.

Imagine that your product can be one of the best in the niche but without a converting sales letter you won't get that far, thus your conversions can be affected drastically. If you can't manage to do it on your own hire an experienced copywriter to have the sales pitch done for you.

    Folks
I've tried to listen to what everyone has suggested so have made some changes to the site. Toned down the color scheme (changed the buttons to suit), moved a few things around, narrowed the copy area, spaced some bit's out here and there...

Would be great if I could get some more feedback.

    Many Thanks
    Shayman

oh yeah and I made it so that you don't need to sign up as an affiliate for the affiliate 'goodies'!

Guys I hope you don't mind me harping on about this, but I've been trying to take on board all the great advice I've had so far. I believe I have a good product here (because so many people have now told me so now) but without a good sales /affiliate page then I realize I'm going to struggle.

With that in mind I've made some big changes to both the sales page and the affiliate page and would really value some feedback please. Here's what I've done:

    1) Toned down the whole site, buttons and all- this was a mission!
    2) Added screen shots for the Learning Tools
    3) Narrowed the copy area
    4) Tried to be more targeted with my sales letter wording
    5) Added 'tick' bullet points
    6) Added Samantha's signature to the bottom of the page- (good or bad idea?)
    7) Given the affiliates the option to sign up for updates or just to go it alone.

We've given the product away to a few people and are awaiting some testimonials which are going to be key in this too.

    Many thanks

Guys, in case anyone has become or is thinking of becoming an affiliate for A.S.A.Piano then I've asked Samantha to put together a 'Give Away' PDF showing all (major/minor) chord structures on the piano. We'll make it look good and it will be unbranded so you can embed your own links into it. Should be a nice thing to give away and will help you build any lists you might be putting together.

It'll be ready towards the end of next week so I'll put it on the affiliate page when it's done, but if you don't want to miss it then sign up as an affiliate and you'll have it sent to you automatically.

Don't worry. I don't bite and won't spam you with any old cr*p! Anything I send will be useful. Promise:cool: But we will be putting together products you can up sell and also more 'give aways' as we think of them.

Actually just had a thought. If anyone would like me to send them a version with their affiliate link pre embedded just let me know and I'd be happy to do so.

Hi, I see you have an opt-in on the sales page. I don't usually promote anything with an opt-in. What happens when people sign up for your newsletter/course/whatnot, and then they use the link sent in the forthcoming emails to buy the product? Who gets those sales?

Hi. I understand your concerns but we feel that the opt in is the best method for a product like this.
Once a customer has tried a demo then we're confident that they will 'buy in'.

Any subsequent follow up emails from A.S.A.Piano will be just clean links back to the site. That way if your CB cookie has been stored on the recipients PC then you'll get the sale if they come back via the link.

Most vendors are honest with their opt-ins. It increases conversions but again, there is the risk of the vendor being a complete idiot by introducing their own links. I always suggest to my affiliates to opt in to the course just to be on the safe side and give them peace of mind.

You took the words out of my mouth Tony. Yes the best way is to opt in yourself and check the links from the follow ups yourself. Good point :)
