My link popularity is at 22k and change according to http://www.submitexpress.com/linkpop/ Now, bigger sites that have the same theme as mine are in the 500k range.... How do they get their link popularity up that freaken high? lol thanks.
They've been around longer... which is the casee a lot of the time. They have better content and more viral methods of making people link to their sites. They have a team of link pop guys that get links for them every month. I use manage a compaign for 1000 links a month. Also, if they have good rankings, their site is going to get scraped from the listings in G, Y! and MSN and put on scraper sites. Those will count as backlinks on a link pop comparison.
That sumbit express isn't right. I used to think it was, but they show 0 on mine for google, while I can find my site listed multiple times.
Sites around longer than yours can have a collective backlink structure deeper and more braos than yours, Sometimes even one link that is placed right can get you thousands of links if it is a sitewide link on a huge site. Google thinks that some of my sites at: http://www.archivatna.com (this site shows 1.6 million pages) http://www.archivaty.net (this site shows 3 million pages) and http://www.trextop.com (this site shows 5+ million pages) now, not one of these sites have that many pages but If they did, what a lot of links that would come out of these!
i used that tool but i'm not quite sure what its telling me. (spot the newbie lol) if anyone could help me out that would be great.
oh i see. is that tool definitely accurate though? I heard some of the SEO tools can give you some varied results that are not always totally accurate.
Maybe they got the budget Nothing is impossible when you got enough $$$ If you can invest a few thousands a month you get those results pretty fast. (< 30 days) Didier
The thing is simple, as the site grows with content everytime different people link to articles that interest them! So say that site is running for 4-5 years and have a daily updated content system .... with interesting updates ... it is always a general reaction of it getting linked to in some blog post or so. Apart from that Bigger sites generally own networks of sites which are interlinked. Then there are paid links bought in bulk ..... innumerable press releases, then syndication of those press releases, as someone above mentioned ... the scraping .... If you have a good budget then there's no further questioning required ..... Btw, Michael ... I clicked on the link your provided and got this error .... Apparently, referrals from DP are not allowed to use the LP script .... had to copy and then paste the link in a new window ... lol Abhishek
