I'm curious to know how many of you have 50+ .com minisites? I would be interesting in hearing your tactics and how mayday has affected you. What changes have you made? Feel free to PM if you do not wish to disclose publicly. I am working to max out my profits from my own minisites. Don't worry - you won't have to share your link - i'm just seeking general info - or someone who I can discuss the minisite market with.
What do you want to know? Do you want to use of their seo experiences to use them on your website? If you want it, I can help you. also there are other search engine optimizers that can help you.
My minisites took a huge blow! I had no idea what happened back then it took me a few days to figure hat out. The overall traffic dropped down to 20% or so. Some of the sites still have not recovered and my biggest problem is that there is no pattern to that so I could not apply any single solution. I just keep doing whatever I was doing before mayday. The best advice I found when looking for the answer it to create backlinks ONLY from sites relevant to yours. Everything else is a waste of time.
I'm not sure the Mayday update would affect minisites more than normal websites. My minisites contain quite a lot of content and I haven't seen any major changes in traffic.
The problem with minisites is that search engine traffic has a more exponential growth pattern vs linear, so the effort it takes to build up 50 smaller sites could be used to build up one large website. If you don't "own" the 50 minisites you can run your own test, by building 50 hubpages on popular sitse such as squidoo, wordpress, and blogger. The power behind owning these sites is the proper interlinking and cross promotion. I would suggest focusing on one website however.
Is the majority of your traffic coming from the search engines? What ad-networks are you using? I am using Google Adsense currently, I have not tested with any other network yet.
wow, how do you manage so many domains, or are most of them on auto-pilot and build and forget type sites?
I've noticed that my mini sites dipped in SERPS (and obviously income) for about 2 weeks, and then popped right up. It seems like Google did a yo-yo with some sites, but then put them back in their place. My sites have pretty good content and some decent backlinks, so that could be why. Mike
