Maybe your website is penalized by Google. Did you make a lot of backlinks for your website?

When new pages get indexed on google, they are ranked highly to give them a boost and then after a few days, Google takes away that boost.

Or if you were building backlinks to your site that looked unnatural, your page would have been penalized and in that case, you're not going to see your site up there for a while.

A little more information would be great for us to help you.

It might be one of the ff. causes:

    1. You have been penalised by Google.
    2. Google Mayday
    3. Google hates you. lol (disregard this, I'm just being silly :))

Having keywords is not enough. You need to also have solid backlinks. Is the content yours? How many words is your content?

Is this your website? http://www.sanding-wood-floors.co.uk/ I found this on your signature.

Okay.. Let me see... Hrmm... Argh!!! There's just too much keywords on your website! Keyword stuffing and unnatural texts. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Not a good move there. Keep the keyword density to a reasonable amount. Cut it down and make it natural!

Next, meta keywords are second to nothing. Google doesn't give a poop about what you put it in their and all keywords that you've stuffed their are practically useless unless they think that it looks natural. Unfortunately, it doesn't look natural.

Yes, you r absolutely right, keyword stuffing is there. and you should concentrate on keyword density and prominency.

Your website is not penalized as it is still in search engine ranking.

Check on Matt Cutts - Google Media Central for keyword stuffing. Google disregards keywords now. Content is king! Syndicate articles!

Well it might not be long before he gets penalized if he doesn't do something about it. A drop in rankings signify that you're website is starting to be pulled out the SERPs and eventually vanish.
