Let me know what you think of my website http://treestandguide.com/ I maintain near 20 websites although this is not my main website I did put alot of time in on the SEO end of it, just something I do in my off time.
I like the design a lot. Is this on wordpress? I think you have room on the top for a logo and a banner ad.
Yes it is a Pagelines theme I bought. Thanks for the for the logo tip. I will see what I can do to incorporate one.
It looks very soothing. nice one. I would definately try to use a tone of that orange in the background on some of the text titling. My first try would be "Welcome to" text in white and "Tree Stand Hunting Tips" text in orange and then would try it in vice versa. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the comments. Appreciate the feedback. Yes definitely getting something up there within the next week with all the replies pointing towards that. I still need to do some page optimization on it yet. So when I do that I can incorporate a logo.
I think it would be good to put a picture of a tree stand right on the front of the first page. A lot of people don't know what they look like, exactly. (Including me, although I know what they are.)
Thanks for the input in the process of trying to fix a redirect. It was working just a few days ago. Can I ask when you click the link is it taking you to my sitemap?
Now it is but I don't think it was before. I clicked on the homepage link and there's some sort of error.
Thanks for the quick reply, it was a wordpress addon I have installed called redirection had to be reconfigured, it should be fine now. I see google indexed it under my sitemap hope it doesn't hurt my pr to bad.
I know isn't it cool? I buy all my pictures from http://www.istockphoto.com/. They have pretty good deals when you buy in bulk. Just make sure if you go through them or any other to backup your images on an external drive. If you lose them you don't get to re-download them after a certain time. They have a section for just paintings and drawings that is where I bought it.
I have also purchased from istock but didn't know they had a section for paintings and drawings. I checked their prices recently and they seemed a little steep. When you say buying in "bulk" -- how much do you mean?
I really like the colours you have used on you website, it looks good and everything stands out. Furthermore i believe that your slider on the top looks really good. The only improvement i would make would be to make the bottom part where it has the latest comments and things look better, at the moment it doesn't look that great, maybe change the text colour of let comments have avatars or something...
That is a good idea I just did it with my main website, with letting everyone have avatars and it does look alot better thanks. I buy the credits as you go, so the more you buy the cheaper the credits are. Between my 10 hunting related websites I bought close to 300$ in images across all of them. But that is not taking into account I have enough images for the next few years of blogging. By then I hope to turn a profit with them and recoup that money. You used to be able to get some images for one credit so what I did was bought the smaller sized ones and then re-sized them just slightly larger. You lose some image quality but not too much. Your money goes alot farther. Here is one artist that sells images of oil paintings on istock. I seen his price per credit went up..so not sure where else is a good place to get the same quality images..http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-10721347-winter-cabin.php
