In a sale last week. It is the highest recorded .info sale to date. Even more then Casino.info The .info definately seems to be gaining ground as investors have more confidence in the extension.
And what, the .com is a clean extension? That has nothing to do with the perceived value of the extension.
Would you invest in zqzk.info? After the free info domain promotion, most good names are taken and there is not much investment future... unless you already have one of those names ranking high.
No there are names that doesn't worth at all, whatever the extension they have. That is the problem, most people get both COMs and INFOs with no sense, or just because they are short or catchy. Real gems are mostly gone.
Mate you obviously don't get it. Some names are premium because there one of a kind. That's what makes them valuable. Don't worry about the names which are worthless (there's plenty of those) worry about good names.
yup...ppl reg the remaining LLLL.com or 3 char with crap extension everyday... for real..all gem are gone...just think about how many people searching those non reg list everyday..if it is still available, it means they are crap... anyway, there is no "real" value beside rare in those short name
.info is really picking up steam. Last week there were more NET .info registrations than .coms, mostly helped by the lowered price for first year registrations. I think .info will be come more popular than .net in no time, due to the fact that it makes more sense. So many domains can have .info on them and make sense to the user, versus a .net. Also the .us market is starting to heat up a bit. Unfortunately the .us cctld was launched AFTER the US population became used to .com's versus other locations like the UK where .co.uk is the same as .com. I think we're going to see a big increase in .info usage and prices not only at the wholesale level, but also end users. Drug companies, car companies, etc all have unlimited uses for .info as an extension to help explain their products. Other extensions to watch are .cn, .jp and .in. Japan's PPC market is the most advanced and has some of the higher CPC's due to advertisers spending more in Google. The .cn market is maturing but is yet not widely taken advantage of by non-Chinese citizens. On the other hand, there are more .in registrations by non-Indian citizens, than there are by Indian Citizens. India and China will have more people online within 5-10 years than the US and UK combined. .Info is the most widely understood TLD as it is recognized as being for "Information" in many languages. As more countries have their ccTLDs develop, the .info becomes a viable alternative to the .com which is in most cases, already taken. Good luck!
don't you think it is better to invest in IDN? and for the info...non english speaker don't know what info stand for....and right now i don't see any site beside those crap MFA site using it(because it is cheaper)
Yes, I do think its a good idea to invest in IDNs (if you havent already... ). It'll be interesting to see if IDN.IDN happens, this will be the most relevant combination, imho. One thing that is yet to be decided however with IDNs is whether IDN.com or IDN.cctld will be the most popular.
I like IDN much more than cctld...but it is too easy to make mistake if you doesn't know that language well...
Through the years I have seen that is not premium names what makes a domain unique, whatever the extension. I have a few premium domains on sale since 2000 (with professional appraisal) and ridiculous offers, so what should be premium are buyers. I agree with this, info is the best food for MFA and widely recognized as providers of info-advertising, rarely good content. Right now NewYork.info looks like a site below any professional expectations, IMO.
In fact I registered info domains since 2001-2002, not sure because dot.NAME and dot.WS went high for me before INFOs.
