Selling amazon products

Is it me or is it that most people are just tire kickers and don't purchase from them?
My stats for June says over 1000 clicks and no sales. I have used blog post ads, wigets and text but no takers so far. Some of the sites are a couple months old or newer and that might be why but.......??

I make money with Amazon. My conversion rates are about 1-2%. With your traffic (Assuming it was through my sites) I would have had 10-20 sales. Usually for smaller ticket items. People like to buy several small items at once.

But in order to get those sales you have to be really focused on matching the ads to why people come to your site in the first place.

In my experience... based on statistical tracking 2/3rds of the people who buy through my affiliate links do so the same day. That means 1/3rd do not. Most of those wait a few days... maybe up to 2 weeks to buy.

Amazon has a 24 hour cookies so 1/3rd of the traffic I send their way... even if they buy will never be converted on my end. And that bites! Amazon knows this and it's really crappy of them to run their program with such a short cookie. But nobody said they were "fair".

For this reason I choose to only use Amazon on pages/sites where there are no other viable alternatives. Also Amazon commissions are very low unless you can really ramp up the volume.

Your best bet is to use other programs and use Amazon to "fill in the blanks" where other opportunity does not exist.

What exactly are you selling? That could be a big part of the overall equation.

My conversion rate with Amazon for the month of June was 4.70%. I build product review websites.

I only had 273 visitors and i sold 14 items. Do not bother using widgets to sell Amazon products.

You should use intext links instead, they convert much better.

no, there must be other reason (except if you have less than 10 visitators per day).

amazon used to be good for earning commissions, but that was before they decided not to let you use ppc and direct link to their site from an adword or yahoo ad. now they suck
