Best hosting for a wordpress site??

    Hi,
I'm thinking about sometime in the near future moving my web designing service to a new level and offering them in completed wordpress forms. I'm wondering though where would you reccommend that I host these wordpress sites which I will be producing for customers? I'm not sure how this usually works since I'm new to offering a service which converts PSD formats into a working wordpress site. Is it normally up to the customer or is there set requirements for a wordpress site?

Thankyou for any help on this,
    Sam

I believe most php/mysql web hosts will be able to satisfy you. You'f better tell us how much space and bandwidth you need

Oh thankyou, and to be perfectly honest with you, Im not too sure on space/bandwidth requirements since this is something im hoping to learn about once Im learning about wp coding etc. I'm only looking to start small with small companies once I do know what im doing so nothing major if that helps at all? I just wanted an idea of trustworthy hosts that arent incredibly expensive..
    Thanks,
    Sam

I would say it's a smart move to supply both the technical solution and the hosting. Because this is what gives you recurring revnue streams. By designing one website you get paid x money. Then they might want you to do some upgrades in a year or so, if they by then remember your name and have your contact details. Not making any money in the time between.

No, much better to do exactly as you are thinking. Get a reseller hosting account, where you know how everything is working and exactly how and then sell them complete packages. Then you will earn from them each and every month, plus they will have a much closer realtion to you. Say that you get a hosting package for $10, $20 or $30 a month, and then sell that space in smaller packages to your clients. It's not hard to charge them $5 to $10 per month for this and you can often put some five clients or more on each of those hosting packages and bank the difference.

I guess saying wordpress website doesnt mean much. What bandwidth/space will you use? How much resources? will a shared hosting account fulfill your needs or do you need to go with a VPS?

I'm not currently hosting anywhere so don't have any of my own personal experience to go off. Hostgator seems to be popular so I may have a look at that in more detail.
And rattleguy, I honestly don't know the answer to any of those at the moment. I was just looking for a general idea as to where offers good hosting for a site with a CMS suchas wordpress incorporated. Hostgator seems to be one of the favourites so I'll look into some more details about that.
Thankyou all for your help! :)

I would suggest looking in the direction of Cloud Hosting. It is now affordable and competitive with conventional hosting and gives extreme benefits when it comes to scalability, true uptime and system resources. Cloud hosting is basically a single node or cloud of computers that are connected together to serve those websites on that cloud, conventional hosts use a single computer or server to provide the service, so it is just common sense that having multiple systems delivering a single service is a lot better than the conventional single system that serves up to thousands of websites.

Keep in mind what your expected traffic is going to be. If you are expecing a couple thousand unique dailies right off the bat, you want a host who can either 1. Accomidate that, or 2. Offer a painless upgrade to something bigger (VPS, Dedicated) when your traffic kills their pipe.

You can try checking for WHM Reseller Hosting instead of normal Shared accounts. You seem going to have multiple sites, so a WHM reseller would be useful for you.
