    So here is the answer.

    1) Who is your followers - Understand them. Are they up to buy anything? Or have they just followed you to spend some time in internet.
    2) What is their likes - What are their likes and dislikes. Will they purchase a product if you recommend.

    Think on the above lines.

Look, way to get money from twitter is either from affiliate program, or through driving traffic to website and monetizing the same.

I think Twitter followers are a dime a dozen for the most part. 35k followers isn't really that many to try and profit from. I would honestly say you need at least 100k followers before driving serious traffic from your tweets. The reason is because 90% of the people following you, are not really "following" your tweets, so take 10%, then divide that by 2 and you'll probably get a real number of people viewing your tweets on a daily basis.

Now we might need to use Google Buzz as well.

there is so much compatition out there that its hard to acctually make anything in this economy but just because you have so many follower doesnt really mean much due to the simple fact that the links you might be posting on twitter is a nofallow. as apose to this site which is a follow site.

yeap.. there is so much competition out there..

when twitter starts.. at that time people love to see what others are talking or sharing about..

but nowdays... just a few people will gone click on your tweet link :(

so.. there is no way to get high traffic from twitter with 35k followers

You probably would have much better luck working with more targeted traffic. Do some research and create a blog for some niches

Have you tried Linkedin for the more serious crowd looking to grow their business online? Give it a try and let me know.

Or, offer a free downloadable product (e-book) to your followers and see how many are truly active.

If you have a blog, you can use this site, http://twitterfeed.com/ to link your blog posts to your twitter account. This way, whenever you make a blog post, it will show up in your twitter account. It will require some setup, but it does work.

Twitter followers? Fake or real? This is becoming more of an issue with Twitter. I am no wheres near where you are with the followers but I do have a bunch. something 780 or close to it. I know its not many, but I closely monitor who is following me compared to who I follow. When I tweet I want some kind of a response back from the followers.

The only thing I do to monetize my Twitter was magpie...not much money in there but with the more followers you get the more money you make.

Like others have said, it will depend on what kind of followers you have. If you've built up that list like many people by following others and getting the auto follow in return, then many will not see or even be interested in your tweets. But if they are genuinely following you because you provide good content, then they are more likely to follow your links.

100 loyal followers are better than 35000 random ones any day.

Well, I checked up your profile and tweets, and it seems that you haven't really gotten into some real "direct" conversations with people. Your tweets are mostly plain links, and that seems to be the cause of your problem.

Converse with people, send "@" tweets to them, Occassionally, mention people randomly in your tweets to get their attention and make them interested in your tweets.

I agree with you and sometimes people just follow you just for the sake of it. I don't see much value in Twitter unless you want to get the latest of news on Katy Perry.

You have to build solid relationships with your Twitter followers. Secondly, post more often. Those more you post, the more your followers will interact with you, and be most like to comment on your blog posts, but something from you, or click an ad. It's all about relationships :)

I really agree with @samdrawin If you want make money with your twitter account than you should have those followers who has needed your product or services. For Example:- I am selling Data Recovery Software than my follower should be hardware.windows, computer peripherals etc. These type of Follower will check your twits and site also. So, Check your followers list and leave that follower who not related to your industry.

I am far from being a twitter guru, but is it really necessary to leave those that you already have. Sure, get more that need or want your product or service. I say keep the followers that you currently have and work on getting more relevant ones.
