Getting visitors to contribute to a review site

I recently launched a niche web host reviews site which is seriously lacking user reviews. Since they are supposed to be legitimate reviews, I can't just write my own for a host I've never used. It has only been 3 days, and had some traffic, but no reviews have been made.

I was thinking I could put up a landing page, optimized for key terms about writing web host reviews, and try to get some user reviews that way. But I imagine that will take just as long as it would to wait for visitors to start writing them through the main site.

Are there any easy, somewhat fast acting methods of getting visitors/users to contribute to sites with the bulk of the content being user submitted? Thanks!

i can only suggest to distribute your link at other webhosting forums or asking people at those forums to share their hosting experience at your site

I suppose that is the best way at this point.

I'm sort of looking for some other ideas, or methods that have worked for other sites, whether or not it is a review site. But mainly sites with content that is mostly user submitted. I can't imagine that all review sites launch with a full serving of user reviews already in place. Some how they have to accumulate.

for sites like this, it would be real tough to get users active. may be you can try adding a forum with the site.

I've thought about a forum, however I'd like to avoid users writing reviews in the forum, as apposed to writing them on the site and using that as a way to discuss hosts.

If you need fast result, you should use of PPC or any other advertising networks. Ans if you want slow result, you can do seo works for your website but as i said, it takes time.

Thanks. I might consider PPC, but I think that works better when trying to get any sort of traffic for a key term. And I'm looking specifically for users to write reviews, not just visit the site. I think I will just keep up my social network marketing, forum posts, and other community activities.

You also can give special benefits ( For example coupon codes or any other thing you can give them) to some of persons who write reviews for you. By this you encourage them to visit your website and write their reviews.

Do a delayed PoPup that invites them to write a comment using your sites relevant keywords, this comment will include a backlink to their site with their keywords. Also use plugins: CommentLuv and KeywordLuv those are being searched by people looking to leave comments on other peoples blogs.

If you're real desperate and need some "start up" reviews, you might want to considering grabbing some existing reviews on the web and sending them through a content spinner and posting them.

I've considered this, but I feel it is a bit too sneaky. I want my reviews to be completely original, and not found on other sites.

The rewards idea sounds good though. I could offer some incentives for writing a review.
