It looks like Google has officially joined the Barack Obama campaign and decided that its contribution would be to shut down any blog on the Google owned Blogspot.com blogging system that has an anti-Obama message. Yes, it sure seems that Google has begun to go through its many thousands of blogs to lock out the owners of anti-Obama blogs so that the noObama message is effectively squelched. Thus far, Google has terminated the access by blog owners to 7 such sites and the list may be growing. Boy, it must be nice for Barack Obama to have an ally powerful enough to silence his opponents like that! It isn't just conservative sites that Google's Blogger platform is eliminating. For instance, www.comealongway.blogspot.com has been frozen and this one is a Hillary supporting site
They are using Google resources so it won't be any surprised by seeing the termination. Google cannot be blamed in this case but blog owner should be instead. If they do serious enough, why don't they just purchase a domain and setting up their own website instead of hosted under other peoples resources. The domain cost is not over $10 yearly and you could do whatever you wanted. I am not defending Google but they have the right to do everything to any blogs under their own, if they are seeing how illegal or intrusive at least.
I have heard that Google might be the biggest fund supports for President election of Obama. all the best,
This blog hasnt been banned by Google. Its privacy has been set to restricted by the blog owner, thats why only selected users can view the blog.
There's got to be a lot more to this story than simply than they were anti Obama. I'm doubting that Google would really want this administration to stay in office for very long anyways with it's political agenda. They are smart enough to realize that backing them is a horrible business decision. I also believe that it's in their best interests not to fund someone as anti business as Obama. I'm sure there was something on those blogs that violated the TOS of blogger and there is probably some extremeists just traveling around the internet reporting anything that they can find that is anti Obama and reporting anything they possibly can. I've had blogger blogs suspended just for adding a few links, maybe those blogs were something along those lines that just happened to be anti obama as well.
I don't think Google will suspend an account because you are anti Obama, maybe they mention racist things about him.. otherwise they will only give the opportunity for a law suites. Freedom of speech and press is the law/ U.S. Constitution (First Amendment).
In any way, blogspot.com blogs are owned by Google and they can do whatever they want with it adn you can't do anything about it. Next time the bloggers shoudl atleast think of getting their own domain
Complete and utter bollocks. it closed 7 blogs? How many millions of blogs are there on blogspot. How many thousands does it close per day for being in breach of the Tos? Unless you can tell me how many anti-obama blogs exits, how many got closed down, how many pro-obama blogs exist, how many got closed down, you don't even have enough to start the glimmer of an argument to be paranoid about.
In the same time period that these 7 blogs were closed down - how many blogs on movie reviews were closed down? More or less than political blogs? What about blogspots about iphones? Were more or less closed down? What about make money online blogs? How many of those have been closed down? Is that a freedom of speech issue? Or just people not reading the Terms of Service before they sign up?
*This happened 2 years ago, not now.* During the campaign, the "Just Say No" group asked their members to go to certain blogs and click the 'report as spam' button. That's why they got shut down. It's was automatic. They tripped the spam filter. (They were also anti-Hillary because she was running against him). Here's the news report on it: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,382452,00.html I'm no Obama supporter, but the OP makes this sound as though it has just happened and then makes it out to be a deliberate act by Google, which is not true. Note to OP: please check your facts before you post...
Unless you're going to show screen caps of the shutdown sites, proving they weren't violating TOS, you're just parroting propaganda.
It was an organized political movement reporting these blogs as spam and tripping an automaic filter that shut them down! And it was 2 years ago. See my previous post or Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,382452,00.html The OP is posting garbage.
