    You're not alone.

I don't mind arguing, I don't mind bickering, but I do mind the childish name calling some displayed here by some. It' s beneath this forum and beneath any professional behavior. Whats worse, it got me going as well, and almost fell into the same trap.

If not DY's then take my word for it, that what he can do goes well beyond the real of tips and pointers. I was skeptic, I even said so in public. I also came back on it in public. Boy was I wrong!

I am not out to convince anyone, but I do think it is a damn shame to let a wealth of knowledge offered freely and without strings attached, slip through your fingers. Add to this the relentless crap certain members were and still are spewing, and I will open my big mouth.

Lets grab the occasion and throw out a dare:

I dare Perry Rose and all the others, to behave in a professional and dignified fashion. I shall do the same, if they can show the same courtesy and good manners.

    Well? Any takers?

    I am willing to.

However, I do know my knowledge is welcome.

To those that want to see this forum collapse, take away all the learners. Then take away the teachers of the how to steps. There will be not much left, especially to those unwilling to contribute by creating posts.

After that, all that will be left will be World War III and the .0001 cent "writers". As this is currently one of the lowest participating parts of this forum, it could be on the cutting board. For those that want to destroy it, you may very well get your wish.

I think you will see that those that have made friendship requests, will tend to agree.

As a recent new member I am impressed by the posters on here and the quality on offer which is as good if not better than the Warrior Forum.

Getting back to the original post we all know that you have more chance of succeeding with any venture if you have a passion about the subject. Why? Because you will hopefully know all about the various nuances concerning the subject and therefore your website covers all the bases.Just look at the incredible list of topics on this site which proves it's the genuine article.Just because you write with a passion however in business is not a requisite to succeed online.

Take for example the Sony HTC Desire which currently is a very popular phone. If you were to become an amazon affiliate and then create a web for this phone I doubt whether the better writer would create more affiliate sales than the person who has no interest in the phone. It's all down to how much targeted traffic etc. is sent to the site which converts.

However if you can create a niche site from your passion that's different.I love blues/rockguitar and could bore you to death about why you should listen to say Eric Clapton or Rory Gallagher. My website for this niche would go further since I know what budding and existing guitarists want including videos etc.My passion and writing would be relevant because although a non musician could copy my site they wouldn't know what makes guitarists tick and wouild be at a massive disadvantage.

Services like article submit allow a paid up member to create an article which is then posted to numerous webs etc.Does anyone know whether this works in terms of increasing income?

    Regards

yes it works through optimized SEO articles. those take up various page one Search engine positions, which in turn brings in that targeted traffic you speak of.

Why can't you just live with the fact that some people live different lives from your own?

Or would you rather that all people be surrounded by beautiful women, booze and crates of money like you.

We will ignore the one that may have sampled too many of the steroids that were not sold.

    L. You were told before how negative you are. Take your anger out on a dog bone.

Blavatsky: Welcome, and I like Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanan, and the like. Anyways, I took a writer writing for as low as 1 cent per word, but with smarts and ambition. He has followed my learning manual to the mark. I just reviewed the article he wrote, on a topic I gave him, that he was not familiar with.

It will be submitted to ArticleBase, for many reasons. Anyways when Google indexes it, will we track its exact position. On #1 to #10 positions (the only ones that really count), we can calculate the traffic. Then according to the business, what the market value will be. From what I can see, it will be worth ten times his previous work, minimum.

Is this fun, Yes, it is like when you run across an unexpected tune that is a really blusey rocker. So love, turns to an adrenaline rush, and the satisfaction of the challenge of plowing past big buck companies. Then like a specialized radio station, the traffic is coming to inspect what you are offering. Not sitting in a big stack, hoping someone will request it.

Because of the holidays, it might be Tuesday to see the factual results. So when he gets the results, I can sense the charge and pride in himself he will get. From there there is no stagnation, or holding back. There is plenty of room at the top. Others are content to live from day to day. He will have the proof. Once you develop the proof, like Clapton, no one doubts your ability.

    Actually I always doubted Clapton's abilities :D

He didn't impress me on a guitar, and he sure didn't impress me with his voice.

Compared to a Satriani, or Steve Vai, he is rather mediocre I think.

Can you write an 500 word article about a teacup with black spots, and honestly not get bored?

I have written a few articles that I had no interest in writing. You still have to give it your best. That is where you have to draw the line with your writing being a work of art. Sure we all love it, but we also have to meet deadlines. This is why not all writing can be a masterpiece. If we treated each article like a fine painting then it would never be finished because we could always find flaws in it.

All writers need to be aware that they are going to run across a topic that makes them bored. You still need to go out do the research and write the best possible article that you can. I say this because your customer or client is paying you for your best work. So, give them what they pay for.

"Actually I always doubted Clapton's abilities"

I thought I was the only one. Mr Eric "Hey look, I'm playing the electric like an acoustic" Clapton while great, can't hold a candle to the technique of Satriani, the speed of Malmsteen or the grandeur of Page. I guess it's the glasses.

JUST to stay on this meandering post a second. You are right. Someone tried to come out with a top ten blues guitarist list recently. Half the listings had no blues, or deep inside feeling to them. I was fortunate enough to see many of the greats in concert, where they could really shine.

But without the proven reputation, like writing, some of them just drift on and on, playing from little club to club. However many like Page and Hendrix and others, (Clapton too), had some little white trails to kick start them. Most so called writers just need a more physical kick to start performing.

Okay, I get what you're saying. Hendrix's Sheriff, Clapton's Cocaine and Page's Stairway gave them a visible rep.

But how cool would it be if people look at writers as they do guitarist? That would eliminate all the virgin writers here:)

ouch. that might sting ol' slow hands more than the turkey neck jibe.

having said that, the man had great instructors in the form of page and beck while they were in the yardbirds, although their distorts innovation has always been credited to him.

About 5 years ago I decided to write a non-fiction book about about high speed precision driving (and yes I'm more than qualified). It was around 40,000 words and the proof reading and editing were an absolute nightmare! I mean it was a completely different animal to writing sales copy, or articles or even short stories ( I love to write shorts!).

The wealthy wiseman: Nice title! and Welcome------------Now you can share some stupid remarks with me from the sidelines.

You are correct about ebooks or paperbacks. The rules are so stringent, and the competition so high. Plus additional time in formatting, editing, cover , and proofing, etc. This was my honest answer to an inquiry from a DP member.. $17, reduce to a special $12, with a bonus book. Then pop on an OTO and maybe get $7.00 more. A long time to recover costs.

It is quite a shame, quite a few sales to buy a concert ticket.

On Blues/Rock slide guitar. Johnny Winter, live (or at least half-way alive). Last time I saw him, A doctor had to escort him to sit down. Big H user. But when the amp was plugged in, he performed at his top. Now 10 years later, he is still not rich with the habit. And at age 71, he is "still alive and well."

Now that kind of fame, after 55 years starting in burlesque show bands, I do not think you would really want to be too overly known. As writers, we will just have to let the words do the talking.

That remark was to Perry alone and I am sure he understands it's meaning if he understands it at all. :D. It was a just a jesting remark (Which would be amply clear to those who can read beyond mere words and smileys) as was Perry's.

Who said I was angry? I do not take steroids or drugs of any sort. That is just a sig link that someone paid me well for. And lastly, Isn't asking someone to take their anger out on a dog bone negative?

Amen bro. Nobody can beat Satch (He's the man) or Steve.

Rather liked Clapton's "My father's eyes" though.
