Just start a blog about your niche that you are interested in and monetize it with Adsense or CPA offers. After that you could flip it.

How much traffic is your site getting? With little or no traffic, I'm afraid you won't see much of an income.

If you're not getting traffic, try article marketing or building back links to name a few.

Even the lamest site can get Adsense cash. Not much mind you, but some. Heck, even if you park the domain using Google's parking service you'll get cash because they'll put Adsense on it.
You should probably focus on building traffic.

If you have cash available, you might want to look at some affiliate marketing tools like Brad Callen's Affiliate Elite product. If cash is an issue, then the blog route, as mentioned above, is a worthy bootstrap.

There are many ways to earn online. There is no one 'correct' way in this business.

What may work for one, may not work for the other. I use Clickbank, so I will discuss that.

ClickBank is the Internet's largest retailer of digital products, such as ebooks and downloadable software.

You could go to clickbank marketplace (http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace.htm) and search for products that are in your niche/are related to your website (weight loss, weight gain, Internet Marketing etc) and then sign up with clickbank and get an affiliate link for the product you select.

You don't need to sign up with clickbank until you want to get the affiliate link. Once you like a product (you can arrange results in different orders: popularity/keyword relevance/highest commission etc) sign up for free with clickbank and click on 'promote' for the product and viola! you get a affiliate link!

You don't need to worry about payment issues, tracking, dealing directly with the vendors etc as clickbank handles everything.

Many vendors provide affiliate tools (which can be checked by going to the 'pitch' page of the vendor/product through clickbank), which you can use to promote the product (like ads, banners, email messages, articles etc)

So for example you could put a banner of the affiliate product on your website (which you will make, related to your niche), and drive traffic to your website. When someone clicks on the banner and buys the product, you would get anywhere between 50-75% commission, depending on the vendor.

Another option is a one page website, in which you put a opt-in form to get your visitors email addresses. Why would they give you their email addresses? because you would provide them a FREE gift (like a free eBook that you make in relation to your niche), in return of their email address.

What will you do with their email addresses? You will provide further value, like a weekly newsletter, and then you introduce related products to sell (your affiliate product).

You can send them a sales message with your affiliate link. You can also put your affiliate links in the newsletter. This is VERY powerful, as you have build a relationship with your list. They trust you. Sales are sure to follow!

Does this take more work? Yes! But which business does not take work?
    Hope this helps!

    1. Grab pen and paper (seriously!)
    2. Think of a site you would enjoy maintaining because you know something about the topic
    3. Once you have a list of topics or niches you would like to develop, go ahead and start researching products, competition and whether or not there is money to be made there (just checking to see whether or not there are adwords ads running is a good indicator)
    4. Determine your revenue model. Are you going to provide content? a service? a product? etc?
    5. Pick the best CMS for your revenue model. For instance, the standard kubric theme in WP is not good if you are planning to develop a store, use a CMS that works with your idea.
    6. RESEARCH YOUR KEYWORDS AND COMPETITION ... < its all in caps... u could imagine how important that is right?
    7. Optimize the hell out of your on page factors and once you have a decent amount of pages/content in your site go to step 8
    8. Start building backlinks or doing off-page optimization... this is something that you have to do every day (or constantly) so don't think this is a one time thing and thats it! Go big and steady.... avoid black hat or shady link building...
    9. Keep track of your results and Tweak your site accordingly
    10. Rinse, repeat, scale!

When it comes to affiliate marketing there are just so many ways to approach the business. Do some research on what others are doing and then develop your own strategies based on your strength and expertise.

Hello Grunt. I'm going to stray off the beaten path for a moment. Like you, I kept reading all this information, downloading free information, etc. I myself could not figure out how to do it alone when I first started. I kept finding all kinds of great information on forums and other places online but could not put them together in any cohesive fashion.

So, what worked for me is finding someone online who you can follow their teachings, at least to get the basic groundwork set up. An online mentor if you will. Then, focus on his/her teachings ONLY and stop downloading and searching all different types of information.

After that, if the teaching has been good, everything else will come together. That may not make sense now, but it will eventually.

If you are one to be able to find all the info online you need and are able to put togther a step by step plan yourself, then you can bypass what I said, but most people can not.

In the begining of this response, I said I was straying off the beaten path, I said that because instead of giving you examples of ways to start this business, I gave you a path to lead down, because there are so mnay ways to start and so many different varibales involved, you can't possibly be told what to do and how to do it "in a nutshell" at this point.

    Good Luck!!

Are you familiar with search engine optimization?
You should do seo works for your blog/website to attract visitors to it and make money or the other way is to advertise for your blog but it needs money.
